Has anyone tried boysenberries?
Comments (1)We grown them on our farm in Millbrook and they are delicious. They are purple in color and are a cross between a blackberry and a raspberry. They usually start ripening around the middle of May and go for about 4 weeks. Their only shortfall we've found is that their texture is a little soft. In that I mean you need to do something with them within a few days picking or freeze them otherwise they start leaking. But over all, they are one of our favorites and we grown 10 varieties here. Comments (0)I began experimentation with my 2010 Mini Greenhouse yesterday. My first efforts are with hisbiscus. I took 3 typical cuttings of pencil size BUT decided to utilize the 11 leaves I cut off to try leaf propagation. I have read of leaf propagation for succulents such as coleus so thought I would try. What the heck, nothing to lose but a little space in the mini GH. Comments (2)Appreciate the "heads-up" thanks. This year, my 3-4 year old Asian persimmon gave up 4 fruit - the size of a soft ball. I thought they would never ripen - but after a few cool nights, they turned a beautiful orange-pink. Even then, after I'd picked them, they needed a bit more ripening in my south-facing window. Finally, I tried one, and it was delicious. As luck would have it, because the leaves turned orange when the fruit did - I missed the last one - and it might have been the tastiest one of all, but it mushed when I picked it - so that's the breaks. I'll know what to expect next year, and hopefully, it has decided it likes it here. I promised myself that I would fertilize it come spring - honest. Comments (9)I have a friend who loves Sun Drop so much she wears the bottle caps as earrings to go with her constantly worn Sun Drop T-shirt! Maybe I just don't know what the intrigue is about this beverage yet I live in the South where everybody seems to advertises this soda, but have yet to try it. Goes along with the area's RC Cola or Nehi Grape - they only get out of the South in a suitcase. Nancy...See Morekathyg_in_mi
