Looking for color suggestion to paint island against lt. bluegray tile

We're thinking of tiling our kitchen floor with Somertile Rustique Gris porcelain tile (a light blue-gray). Our kitchen counter is two parts: one consisting of upper and lower cabinets, with the appliances along an outer wall, and on the opposite side there will be a peninsula with lower cabinets only. Our appliances are all stainless steel and the cabinets are all shaker white. Our countertops will be Supreme White granite.

We've seen some kitchens that have the outer island a different color than the rest of the white cabinetry, for example, this. So you have your white cabinets, your floor which is a color, and the island another color enitrely. We like this idea. Also, it solves a problem for us on the outside of the kitchen, since the rest of the house has white floors and this way we won't have white floors against a white peninsula.

We're wondering what might be a good color for the peninsula to go with the tile we've chosen for the floor? Can we get away with it and keep the supreme white countertops throughout?

And while we're at it, we'll take backsplash suggestions, too!

Thanks in advance.
