Comments (11)You are into the most crowded segment of the upholstered furniture industry. There are hundreds of companies that make upholstered furniture that retails at the price range you are looking at. Don't expect to find 8 way hand tied coils at your budget. But you should be able to get a sofa and love seat with kiln-dried hardwood frames, high-density foam cushions and sinuous coils for $1500. There are so many companies out there that can fit your requirements that I don't know where to start recommending. I will warn you, however, of a few things to avoid. Stay away from Ashley Furniture, probably the largest single manufacturer and retailer of upholstered furniture, unless you really want one of their $399 sofas. Their more expensive offerings are still junk underneath. The other warning I have is to stay away from leather at that price range. Leather offerings at that price come in 2 different categories: first are the sofas that are made with "bycast" leather that is basically little pieces of scrap leather that has been chopped up and glued back together. The mill cost is for bycast is about the same as a medium-low grade of fabric. The second category of leather to stay away from is genuine leather sofas. For a manufacturer to afford to put real leather on a sofa at that price means that they have to cheat on the insides. You will be getting a $399 quality sofa with a nice piece of leather on the outside. I am not terribly impressed with IKEA's upholstered furniture offerings. I think their case goods are a much better value. Microfibers can be great. Just remember that there are different grades. See if your salesperson will let you feel a swatch of the fabric. Some microfibers are very thin while others have some weight to them. It can be very difficult to tell the difference when the fabric is made up on a sofa, until you have had it in your home for a year or two and start noticing the thinner fabric wearing out....See MoreNeed names of sofa & loveseat mfrs , not expnsv but not junk
Comments (4)My suggestion would be to look at the following brands for what you need: Berkline Lane Ashley Palliser Best quality is Berkline and Palliser.....Ashley and Lane are not bad they are just so big that their complaints get visibility online because they have such a large portion of the market. Go with a Berkline sofa that starts with '1' in the model name for the best deal. They are their import models and actually are decent quality. It is one of the import seats that I have had good experiences with....See Moremixing sofa and loveseat...what do you think of this combo
Comments (1)The color scheme is OK, but personally I would not choose the same type of suede fabric for the love seat. Also, I would probably also go for something drastically different in style for the love seat if you're going to mix and match. To me, looking at this, it feels like you tried to match them but couldn't, they're so similar in shape, all the way down to the leg shape. Now keep in mind that it is just my opinion and that I am not an interior designer, so I could be completely wrong! Servanne Littfin Design...See MoreDo I have to do the same two chairs in LR?
Comments (16)Assuming this is a short term rental. Do you have a TV over the FP or somewhere? I have a large family and we vacation together and often get a Short Term Rental house or duplex rather than hotel rooms. There is some time during the day that someone wants to watch a bit of TV or we need the kids occupied while the adults are getting things ready for the day/evening activity or just to wind down. When your used to traveling as a large group you don't always expect that the accommodations work for every situation. Sleeps 6 (+ a kid or 3) Need room for 6 to sit, but it doesn't need to be a 6 seat sofa or 3 person sofa and 3 chairs. I would probably add a chair with an ottoman - if needed someone can sit on the ottoman. If you can fit another small arm chair great, if not don't overcrowd. If you can tuck some folding chairs somewhere that people can see them they will make use of them. Something sturdy with nice padding like these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EQ1TEKQ/?&tag=vurnicom-20 (Maybe hang them under the stairs) You could also look for a corner to place stacking chairs, but someone is bound to sit on top of the stack. https://www.amazon.com/Flash-Furniture-HERCULES-Stacking-Burgundy/dp/B002NS0ZQQ You may also want to consider nesting tables on one side of the sofa - if people sitting on the folding chairs want to put a drink down they have a small table. If you are replacing the counter I would make the bar area counter height (looks like it is bar height now, but the ring photo is a bit distorted. I would add bucket seat counter stools something like this. https://tableschairsbarstools.com/bar-stools/counter-height-bar-stools/contemporary-bucket-seat-stool-with-cut-out-back-on-counter-height-base-from-regal-seating/...See Moreapple_pie_order
