I guess because we had it there for a few years and he wanted to try something new. He loves it like this so i’m losing the battle. Ha.

Making a bed is really hard when it's against a wall so there's a good reason not to put it where the dresser is. I think that once you have curtains in place, having it centered between the windows will be less of a big deal. The best part is that it's so easy to rearrange furniture, you can switch it up every month....lol.

Personally, though, I would see how it looks and functions if the bed were centered on the single window to the right of the dresser.

I agree with your husband! I would get two bed height chests or large nightstands to help fill the space, remove the dresser, and put storage for toys on that opposite wall. And a nice big rug. How old is your daughter? This seems like a room that has the potential to carry a child for some time.

She’s 7 right now so we’re calling this her “medium-girl room” instead of her big-girl room. Haha. Hoping to decorate so she won’t want to do this again until middle school! Fingers crossed! :-)

Does she have any artwork that you could frame and put over the bed? Something she made and is proud of or something she likes to look at? I think that would help balance out the windows if the bed stays where it is.

The question is... what does she prefer? I have 3 little girls and none of them like having their bed float in the middle of the room. It’s not cozy to them. It may look good in a photo and to make the bed, but what is the ideal placement for sleeping?

She gets excited about anything new so she loves it. And the trundle has room to pull out towards the closet so her twin brother is sleeping with her tonight.

We haven’t decorated AT ALL yet so we’ll be putting all the personal touches up once we settle on furniture placement.

Yes! That’s exactly how we have the beds in our house. Same style too. I love the look of the bed centered, but the girls like the comfort of being closed in by the wall. I agree about how exciting the “newness” can be.

My four year old has lots of company and so has two beds. Therefore I can’t really say how comfortable he would be with his bed centered, but it seems to me that having your daughter‘s bed stuffed in that corner with all that space and beautiful lighting the room provides would be a loss. Maybe try the bed centered on that window like was previously suggested? That’s probably the best compromise. Here’s my son‘s room for reference (disregard the wrinkles, I imagine he was jumping on the beds):

Does she play in this room? If so this layout really cuts the room up. How about turning the bed 90 degrees so the head is next to where it used to bed? Change in layout, head away from windows, gives room more uninterrupted floor space. I would have it out from the wall with a nightstand in the corner. Then the trundle can pull out into the room.

My girls also liked the bed close to a wall so I agree with Haley about that especially since its only a twin.

Depending upon her age, you could ask your daughter and follow her preference for her room.

If the issue for you is the visual of it rather than spacing:

With curtains on the window that hide the side window frames, you couldn't tell that wall behind the headboard is not as wide as the headboard. That might help the visual vibe. If you like the no curtain open window look, you could use both sheers and a pair of drape panels for each window and only cover the side window frames, leaving the shears in the middle to "cover" the window itself. Alternately, you could use a double rod and have the sheers on the inner rod and have the option to leave the curtains or drapes open or closed.

You might also consider a different option: Change the bed to a metal frame (with wheels) -- without any headboard or foot board -- and use the window to the right of the chest of drawers as a headboard -- leaving the other windows unadorned, use curtains to create a theme at the head of the bed that represents your daughter's current interest.

To me, the logical place for the bed is the headboard against the blank wall perpendicular to the dresser.
