None of those is in a 50 mile radius around me. I’m in Arlington, Virginia. Anything I can order online? I like the Repotme products. Expensive but they are very similar to the good soils suggested in container plants discussions.

I use Miracle Gow 24-8-16 and it is the best ratio feed for Meyers. Get pure pine bark mulch not the colored stuff and mix with compost and perlite. I am using a 3-2-1 ratio

Hi Mike ( writing this for the third time lol, don’t even know how to submit)

I found Orchiata orchid bark extra small and Turface online. Any suggestions what kind of mix can I create for my lemon tree that will be long lasting and healthy? I can find perlite locally, no pumice around.

I‘ve been lurking for years and enjoyed all container garden advice and although I got no green thumb (I think I like water too much) I haven’t killed any houseplants yet. Peat is not for me in any form.

I like to play and repot my small plants every year, inspect their roots, enjoy good results. But I don’t think I want to repot the citrus every year. I just want it to be healthy and happy. Tree was expensive so the mix should be too. It also has a meaning for my family.

In case I forgot to mention it: plant will be indoors at all times inside a little sunroom

Do not be surprised if your Meyer goes into shock when you get it by dropping its leaves. Meyer lemons do not like changes in their environment. Why can't your tree go outside? Citrus do better outside than inside.

Yeah, I’m prepared for the leaves falling although the seller said mostly not... they have good reviews, we will see.

As for outside, I wish... here, in the small city of Arlington, there are so many rules as to how many pots can be outside and where... there’s no sun where the lemon would be. It is going to be in full sun with no glass window, just the screen for like 8 hours daily now and 6 hours in winter

Niada, did you say that there is a no glass winow? Does that mean it will get no sun. How much dunlight and how warm it is will determin just how fast draining your mix shoud be)

Is there a Lowe's or Home Depot near you? What kind of pot were you thinking?

Mike, it’s a sunroom with a screen only, no glass window so plenty of sun. Yes to Home Depot and Lowe’s. Citrus is coming in a 8 inch plastic pot which would be full of roots. I’m not sure which size pot till I receive it

Do you know what rootstock it is on. That makes a big difference on the soil quality needed.

I use a heavey mix for my trees so they don't dry out in the summer. In the winter I have to aerate the roots to prevent water logging and root rot

It’s here :))) Not what I imagined, looks spindly but healthy. Repotting seems to be an emergency as it’s not taking up water really well, there’s more roots then soil.

I still haven’t figured out what the potting mix would be after reading almost every post in garden Web and citrus forums.

I am thinking a 6 months home needed for this guy until the growing season starts next year, one to be good indoors. I will keep it inside with supplemental light.

Just bitted the bullet and finished repotting last Friday. As of today, 5 days later, it looks good. Used a cactus mix with pumice 50/50. That should be fine till beginning of next spring?

Also its settled inside with a good quality day light (grow light)

I repotted my Meyer a few weeks ago, didn’t even kept in the shade, never lost a leaf or fruit, cut the tree in half. Right now it has recovered completely.

Your lemon is in great shape, gorgeous green and dense leaves. Did you just get it or you’ve been growing it for awhile?

Do you mind if I ask what did you use for soil? Also I’m itching to prune mine. When I ordered it, I was expecting a bushy, shorter tree. Any tips on that? I’m searching everywhere pruning tips.

I can’t keep it outside till next spring :((

Too small? You show Steve, she feels better from a variety of inputs. Mine is just one.

Got this tree that is due for a royal pruning job next spring. All branches will be approximate 6 inches long depending on the nodes, need two Per branch.

I got mine just 4 weeks ago, reported a week ago. I’m gonna wait a few weeks to acclimate in the new soil and see how the grow light is gonna do. It already has new growth though
