Refrigerator WITHOUT ice maker, counter depth
Comments (21)Mominator61: We have had the Electrolux for about 1 month and we are very pleased. It has plenty of room for us and is quiet. This is our first french door model and it was difficult to judge the amount of space, but it clearly has more than enough for the two of us. It is bright inside and you can instantly see everything on the selves. We kept the ice tray in the freezer, its handy for holding little things and is a good place to put glasses when you want a frosty glass. We also like the frozen pizza slot in the door of the freezer. Overall it has a good design. and looks nice flush with our pantries. In our small kitchen it gave us the walking room we needed. I am confident you will like it....See MoreFrench door bottom freezer fridge without ice maker?
Comments (21)I have seen several French Door fridges with no icemaker in the door. I made the mistake of buying a LG French Door with the icemaker. Long story short, I had the thing worked on at least 5 times by the time it was 5 years old. I've had a recall because of interior lights staying on and catching peoples houses on fire, a computer board went out. The icemaker went out and I had it replaced to the tune of $600 for the parts and repairman. But it never worked at all even after he replaced it. Repair man said it needed another couple of hundred worth of work. I just quit spending money on it at that point. I'm building again and this house will have a Side by Side GE with the door ice and water dispenser. The icemaker is the 10 LBS arctic one. The LG will be in the garage for a beer cooler. Pretty sad for a fridge that is only 6.5 years old....See MoreBosch Benchmark®, 36" Built-In French Door Refrigerator B36BT930NS
Comments (8)Thank you all for your comments. I was able to talk to a rep and learned that there are some differences that I did not feel was important enough to go the Thermador route. The biggest difference is the door assist on Thermador where you can push it in a little and it opens on it's own and will close if you don't open it all the way. Otherwise, it's all cosmetic. Also, the warranty is 2 yrs vs 1yr for the Bosch. So, since I'm doing all Bosch in other appliances, I'm going with Bosch and saving about $4k with rebates and builder discount! This new fridge is so new that the closest place to see it is in CA.. Fingers crossed....See MoreThermador 36" Built In French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
Comments (18)The Thermador T36BT920NS Freedom Series 36 Inch Built In Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator ($9300) was very highly rated by Consumer Reports and, per CR, Thermador's built-in refrigerator predicted reliability is "Excellent". However Bosch's reliability for a similar product is also "Excellent" and it's one-third the price or less: Bosch B36CT80SNS 800 Series 36 in. 21 cu. ft. French 3 Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel with Dual Compressor, Counter-Depth ($2789) Bosch B36CT81SNS 800 Series 36 in 21 cu ft French Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel with Dual Compressor, Pro Handles, Counter-Depth ($3149) If you're going to compare fridges, you should compare apples to apples. A counter depth is NOT the same thing as a built in. The Thermador is NOT the same as the two Bosch ones you show. The comparable Bosch is the B36BT930NS. It's listed for $8299. I have the panel ready built in Bosch version of this fridge and I think it's excellent. And yes the Bosch has dual compressors. We went with the Bosch over the Thermador because we got a rebate (well we were supposed to until the builder screwed that up too) because we were doing a Bosch cooktop and oven, so with the third piece, we were supposed to get a 12% discount. There are only very slight differences between the Thermador and the Bosch and it has nothing to do with performance....See Morewdccruise
