Cabinets, Counters, Backsplash, Floor - Do these work?
Does this combination work? It’s for a kitchen (I have posted the layout in a different post. )
White shaker cabs, marble backsplash (I have 75 sq ft of this! So I am looking for alternatives, too), quartz counters in either statuario or Lincoln (light veining in browns and ever so faint gray in spots), and the floor is porcelain wood-tile planks. Flooring will be for kitchen, hallways, and maybe living and dining room, but if not LR and DR, the color goes well with the neutral carpet. Stainless appliances and farm sink witch apron Front. Thank you.

Comments (10)I think a very plain soapstone or very neutral warm quartz (caesarstone oyster?) would be nice choices as they wouldn't fight with the floor. I searched for terracotta tile kitchens on houzz cuz I thought it might share undertones with your tile. I know the kitchens are enormous but at least the color combos might translate? Comments (14)is that white around the window wood trim? or is it the window? if trim, I would remove it and tile up underneath the cabinets. Comments (13)You hit the nail on the head...I like the color of the more grey one, but I worry it will have a fake look. I want to like the one with the real pebble look more, but it falls flat. I'm waiting for a sample of a terrazzo look tile from Tilebar that's also polished. I like a mid-century look, so hoping we will like these. I put it together with a couple of combos in a visualizer with a counter similar to ours. This isn't actually our space (Ours is demo'd), but it's similar. 4 years agoAgree -- marble-look counter with, say, gray backsplash tile, or the marble backsplash with, say, solid gray quartz (or gray soapstone-looking with some white veins). People do sometimes combine the quartz and marble, but you need to be very sure everything is working, and smaller marble tiles seem to work better. Had to work find to find some examples.

4 years agolast modified: 4 years agoThank you all for the info. To clarify, I see shaker white cabinets with white quartz (marble look, plain, etc) a lot. There is no super white quartz so if you‘re using white shaker with predominantly white quartz counters, there will be a mix of whites, right?
I also think as I look at it that the marble is too fancy for the casual vibe, but I’d like a backsplash that’s really great. The quartz patterns are pretty quiet.

4 years agoWe just redid our backsplash white cabinets black counter top. I love the impact of a bold pattern and there are a lot out there right now to choose from.
