Thanks. I wish I knew what tile that was, but it's just a pic I found on here. The ones I actually have are in the first 5 pics. I considered vinyl but think it would be weird to go from wood in the other areas to faux wood in the kitchen so I would prefer something different. I had stained concrete in another house and the hardness didn't bother me. Will have a rug where we eat and a runner where I stand a lot to cook.

Yes I like patterns but want something that I will tire of in a few years.

Are you sure you don't want to continue your hardwoods? You can use a mat under the dog bowls, and having one continuous floor would always be my preference. Plus the wood will warm up the space, especially since you're using a gray countertop. If you want tile, I like the second tile photo without the color variation on the edges, which is better for a more modern look. Use a rectangular shape rather than the squares.

My first choice would be continuous hardwood, but if you have to use tile, I would go with second from the top, the terrazzo looking tile. The other tile looks like bad faux-painting.

Bad faux-painting or not, I prefer the first tile shown. The second (speckled) one seems to suck the life out of the various samples, and the combo just looks dull. There's not life to the combo. I think the issue is more the color than the pattern, so maybe there's a third option that's better than either.

You hit the nail on the head...I like the color of the more grey one, but I worry it will have a fake look. I want to like the one with the real pebble look more, but it falls flat. I'm waiting for a sample of a terrazzo look tile from Tilebar that's also polished. I like a mid-century look, so hoping we will like these. I put it together with a couple of combos in a visualizer with a counter similar to ours. This isn't actually our space (Ours is demo'd), but it's similar. Of those two options above, the lighter is much better. The dark version makes the floors look dirty.

I agree the dark is too dark. The medium is my favorite online, but we will see what I get the samples.
