Second, I am not a granite person either, but I think it's worth your while to look at the pics of Positano's lovely kitchen. She does have Costa Esmeralda, but the green seems to be a very greyish olive and the pattern is subtle. Even if you don't like the stone, it will give you sense of what a polished surface in a medium tone would look like with cabinets, floors, and lighting conditions not dissimilar to yours. Your cabinets are beautiful, and I think when you get the lighting as you want it, you will find that you have lots of options for counters and backsplash. Best of luck. Comments (25)White subway tile or just paint. None of the stone look tile go with the counter. As a buyer I'd rather have to tile a backsplash than rip out a backsplash and then tile it! Discordant/jarring/glaring backsplashes are one of my biggest turnoffs. I think it's the area where most people make a mistake in their renovations... so many people want to add "interest." Most places need less interest, not more. On the other hand, lighting is crucial. Would far rather someone put in the necessary lighting and just paint the backsplash. But that's me! Your mileage may vary! Good luck :)...See Morecounter and backsplash tile to go with existing floor?
Comments (8)The cabinets look good, the countertop and splash work well together. The floor looks cheap and out of place with what you have and what you want. The floor should go first, then make changes as you can afford them. If it were me, no way would I spend the money and effort to paint those cabinets and switch to fake marble at the tail end of the trend. And if you go ahead with your plan, as a rule, unless the stone matches the counter, then you do not use two stones, much the less fake marble and real marble. So counter is Caesarstone xyz, you get the same for backsplash. With natural stone you can match with slabs or tiles made of the stone. For maximum impact with minimal spend, Glacier White Corian married with Carrara subway works wonderfully well. Google images and you will see. I can't post pics when I am on mobile device, sorry. Good luck....See Morehelp! Which backsplash/counter top for oak cabinets
Comments (5)I'd go w a slate look vinyl tile. and the middle choice of the formica in row of five. A mini trac lite above sink and serpentine one in center of kitchen will assist w lighting . Then the slate look floor will ground the space/not be so dark and help the oak go for another lease on life as per your decision.... [ consider swap of some uppers for glass doors] . Not sure about beige sand cream floor tones...just get a slate look /classic/ hard to beat....See Moreeliseharrison
