It's November, how is your build coming along?
Comments (54)Hick14 and Kimber95 - Hello to my house building friends in IL! I'm doing a "NO MORE RAIN" dance tonight! Make it stop! Hick14 - How exciting! Our house is being built just off Rt 78 if you ever want to stop and look at it. I'd love to see pictures of yours! Ours won't be finished until June.....When is your hopeful move in date? Welcome to GardenWeb! I love seeing everyone's pics and getting helpful advice. Kimber95 - Very exciting for you, too! Isn't this rain and cold weather awful if you are trying to build a house?? It looks like you are progressing nicely. I stopped out at our building site today, and oh the mud!!! Yuck, yuck, yuck. I can't wait for the roof to be on and windows and doors on so it will be protected from the weather. ..................................................... cursivesailor - Big check! I hear ya! The foundation, basement, garage was a big one. The checks have slowed down a bit for a while.....but I'm sure there are plenty more bills to come. tdog..only a month ago breaking ground. Wow! You must have busy builders. crescent50 - Beautiful setting! Welcome all! What an exciting journey we are on together....See MoreYour wedding colors, flowers, and song
Comments (48)We're another couple who got married in a hurry by a judge. We'd been living together for years and really hadn't planned to marry but, his office wanted to transfer him from Montreal to Atlanta. I'd been living in Montreal for 15 years but I was and am an American citizen. His company had an attorney who was going to help DH navigate the path to a green card. I found out that if we were married I could simply go to the consulate and request status for him so it was a no brainer to get married. I mean, it wasn't that we didn't love each other or have a serious commitment, we owned a house together up there for many years and I brought the mortgage papers to the consulate to prove it, it's just that we weren't in any kind of hurry. We might have gotten around to it without the push or we might not have....See MoreYour Wedding China
Comments (128)mtnrdredeux, I adore that raspberry/gold Limoges And it's perfect with the Herend Chinese Bouquet Raspberry! SO very pretty... I'm always amazed at how pretty and how different Chinese Bouquet looks in its various colorways. Can't say I'm at all fond of the new "black" and "dark sapphire", but I guess they felt they had to appeal to the young who appear to think that black dishes are very edgy and hip. It's a pattern one will never tire of and that will always look good. Herend is now the only china being completely hand-painted. Even the venerable Royal Crown Derby no longer is, but at least it's still totally made in England, all the rest of the potteries long gone to the far east. No one wants to learn how to do these skills any longer. There is no longer any company in England that can hand block print fabric. The traditional patterns have been outsourced to the far east, and the difference in the quality is noticeable (not as good) even though the prices have soared into the stratosphere. I wonder how much longer Hermes bags (at least the Birkin and Kelly) will continue to be all hand-cut and hand-stitched in France. It's no surprise that the prices of such continue to soar to unheard of heights....See MoreDishwasher that cleans well & dries dishes??
Comments (57)I came here to help pick out a new dishwasher because my 10 year old Bosch has the black moldy funk that has resisted all of our efforts to kill it. I just order the Cascade Fryer Boil cleaner someone recommended so that will be my last ditch effort. Dishwashers are very backordered right now but I don't know how much longer I can take this. About 4 months ago we started to notice some serious funk and our dishes are not even remotely as clean as they used to be. We have endlessly cleaned out the filter, scrubbed it all down, used vinegar and baking soda, lemonade powder mix, many different dishwasher cleaners but it all just comes right back a moment later. I think that the pipes must be completely mucked up too. Just so gross! Anybody else?...See Morearcy_gw
