Placement of wall-mounted vanity faucets
Comments (4)Great points palimpsest. I have a wall mounted faucet but it is with a farm style sink (not a vessel sink). I planned and planned the location of the faucet above the rim of the sink. The end of my spout (where the water exits) is 4" above the rim of my sink. The sink is about 35" at the rim, above the floor. There is a counter at the side that makes the counter height 36". My rough in is about 40" above the floor. I have a tall wainscot so my mirror needed to be mounted higher. It would be marginal for your use, but my DDIL is 5'1" and she didn't complained about it when they visited. If you plan your installation this should not be a problem for you when you mount your mirror. With you being 5'1", your eyeballs will be at about 56-57" above the floor I think. Start there and plan your installation to meet your mirror viewing needs. If you have a large variance of people heights in the home, maybe you could have the vanity step down to your height needs at your sink. Or have 2 vanities of different heights....See MoreJACLO Steam Valve wall-mounted faucet w/ hidden sprayer
Comments (15)I realize this post is really old (five years!!!) but am replying in case anyone else runs across this. Just wanted to let others know I had this faucet and absolutely loved it. It's the only wall mounted faucet you can get with a sprayer. And it looks great. The quality is terrific. I used it for five years before I sold the house and never had problems. The people who bought the house four years ago love it too, and they've never had troubles either. I'm buying it again for my new build. It fit the style of my old Craftsman well, and I think it will work in the new contemporary too. Another great thing is that with a wall mount faucet, there are no holes in your countertop that you have to fuss about cleaning around. A sweep or two around the sink and it's all clean. Perfect!...See MoreShould I get a wall mount faucet for this vanity?
Comments (7)@Beverly: Good point but no, it doesn't. There's an option for 1, 2, and 3 holes. Hence why I went down a rabbit hole of research, lol. :X I think it's definitely feasible but after really thinking about the added work for the contractor to put in an access panel for any future repairs, it's a no. That wall would have been an exterior wall. That plus my partner's hesitation to do something that to him feels "like a restaurant". Huh? Really a bummer because I love the look and can't imagine how satisfying it would be to wipe the counter clean in one fell swoop. Maybe in another life. :-)...See MoreTrough sink w/ double faucets...how small can you go?
Comments (4)You really need to make sure that you can get your hands under those faucets easily. We have a vessel-type sink setup in one bathroom, and I think the basin drops about 5" in depth, so it's pretty shallow. We do have to be careful about splashing. The faucet on ours actually is mounted inside the sink to help with the drips. To mount 18" apart for a 30" sink is tight. You have just 6" on either side to prevent splash-out. The waterfall-type faucets tend to splash more than ones with an aerator. If you can get a basin with mounts for faucets inside the sink, that will help, but it's a little harder to find those styles than the straight basins. Look at Elkay's "Mystic" river sinks. Those are quite unique and might give you an extra option....See MoreNidnay
