I am having wall mounted faucets installed for all of my bathrooms. The project starts this coming Monday. I bought a slab of quartz enough for all 3 vanities. My contractor has a fabricator that will do the templates and cut the sink openings. As long as your countertop material are in stock, they can do template and installed in a couple of weeks.

Yes, it will be more expensive, but you will have a vast selection of materials at the stone yard compared to any prefabed piece at Lowe’s or Home depot.

You will need enough material for a backsplash which should go high enough so that it extends a bit above the faucet. You can also use tile for your backsplash if you don’t want to use the same as the countertop. Fabricators do have lots of remnants left over from other jobs which will definitely be less expensive than getting an entire slab.

This outcome can be great, but it involves multiple trades and coordination. You will need someone to set the vanities, run the new plumbing and a shop where you can select and they can custum cut the stone to match the faucets and sinks you have selected. If you are not up to this then you need a small remodeling contractor to coordinate all of this.

You need to know how high your vanity will be, how deep your sink will be, then correctly chose a faucet with the proper distance from spout to sink (so there is minimal splashing, and coordinate the spout reach to properly align with your sink so that it does not over or under reach (you need to know the spout reach in order to know exactly where the sink cutout should be). So as Beverly mentioned, there is a lot of coordination that needs to happen.

It’s a little more work for the plumber at the early rough-in stage, and then can’t be moved without difficulty. A wall faucet rough-in has to be dimensioned *perfectly* both horizontally and vertically. Things like, will the floor tile be 1/4” or 3/16“ or 1/2” thick? Will the countertop be 2cm or 2.5cm or 3cm thick? Counter at 34”or 36” high? Vessel sink or undermount? All can change the height of the wall rough in valve. When the finish plumbing is countertop mounted the rough in plumbing does not have to be so exact.

meenagan - the recommended distance for bottom-of-spout to rim-of-sink dimension varies, and the vertical distance from rough-in valve at wall to bottom of spout can vary considerably. It may be easier to find a wall faucet and sink you like in person in a showroom and study how they are positioned and what ‘looks right’ proportionally.

You need a K&B Designer involved. There are a lot of intertwined and conflicting requirements to do this correctly.
