how high off the vanity top should a wall mount water faucet be?
Comments (1)I know I struggled with this when having mine installed. There are so many variables. I found this article online that sort of raps down some of the things to consider. You could also look at houzz and sort by bathroom wall mounted faucet. Luckily, mine worked out great. You can look at mine by searching at the bottom of this page for Treetop (I posted pics with that name). "Julius Ballanco, president of JB Engineering and Code Consulting in Munster, Ind., says since wall-mounted faucets take more abuse, contractors should choose a sturdy one. "I will pay extra money for a solid-brass connection," he says. Bartlett cautions remodelers to make sure they can find parts for whatever type of faucet they choose. Height and depth Bartlett also advises contractors to "measure, measure, measure" when installing these faucets. "Have your sink available to take measurements from to make sure you have the right height," the plumber says. He says that although there's no standard for wall-mounted faucet heights, contractors must leave an air gap between the top of the sink and the bottom of the faucet. "Don't let the faucet go inside the sink -- that's a code violation. You need 1 inch of airspace between the top of the sink's flood level and the bottom of the faucet," he says. On the other hand, if the faucet is too high, he cautions, water will splash out of the sink. Tim Mullally, president of KWC Faucets, in Norcross, Ga., says the company's Vesuno faucet extends 6, 9, or 12 inches from the wall. "The height of the faucet will depend on whether you're using it with a vessel bowl, a bar sink, or an under-mount sink," he says. Since the faucet is mounted on the wall, it also requires a longer reach to operate. Mullally says that if the primary user of the bathroom is a child or is short, make sure they can reach the handles."...See MoreRecommend wall mount faucet for undermount sink in 30-inch vanity

My water stream hits the center of the sink drain - just dumb luck I suppose when installing. Faucetdirect.com search allows you to pick spout length. Comments (7)I think you are right to err on the side of too short. Measure how far out from where the wall will be, to where dead center of the sink will be and then decide -- beyond that, less than that, or right there. I have a 17" deep wall-mounted wading-pool type sink, and measured the wall-mount spout out (!) so the water poured roughly dead center over the drain - 8" (plus 1/4 for the wall mount trim). LOVE IT except -- I put the spout about 2" too low. Wish I had raised its out-point from the wall up 2" more inches to give more room between sink and faucet. Keep that in your mind as you go - since you are doing undermount it sounds like, that will be opposite issue (having it too high). Same thing with length -- the more room you have for hands, hair, kittens, whatever ... the better....See MoreShould I get a 65” or 75” tv to mount on this wall?
Comments (32)Sorry, I misunderstood, I thought you lived in a small house and the area pictured was the only space available to serve both as dining and living. I think you should do as someone above mentioned and cut cardboard to the different sizes that you are considering and see what you think will work best for you and your family. Your son did a very nice job on the table. I looked closely at it while considering the drop leaf table and thought how nice it looked. However, thinking that the room had to serve both as living and dining area it needed smaller scaled furnishings....See MoreRoost & Row
