Rethinking king size bed for master- anyone regret their queen?
Comments (66)If you have the room for it King is always better! But just keep in mind its always harder to downsize once you’re used to it. we upgraded from Queen to King when I was pregnant with my second kid.. i was already feeling cramped with one kid kicking me.. fast forward to now Ive separated/divorced and I let ex hubby keep King bed but i got myself a Cal King out of wanting to keep the space i was used to and my littlest still bed sharing… my current home has small bedrooms and i am now considering downgrading to a queen to have more room in my master bedroom, but i dont want to give up all the room.. wish i didnt get used to it now, because my bed takes up most of the room 😭...See MoreDo you have a California King Bed?
Comments (14)We have one and are going to switch to a Standard King. California King bedding is readily available in the West but if you read the fine print the measurements for both Cal King and Regular King bedding are exactly the same except for the fitted bottom sheet. Top sheets and most (not all blankets) are a bit too short for tucking in or a nice drape. So we decided since tall DH sleeps curled up anyway and we don't spend a lot of the same hours bed anyway we will sacrifice a few inches in length for a few extra inches in width. That may give us a better tucked top sheet along with more room for the beasts....See MoreBed Size: King or Cal-King?
Comments (5)We had a cal king and it was a PIA to find bedding. I would go with the King, after your eye gets used to it, you won't miss those 4 inches at all. We dropped sizes from a Cal King to a Queen now THAT was an adjustment, but I love being able to stay warmer at night and the bonus is bedding is less expensive. Rule of thumb, function over form. If it will work better for you, go with the king....See MoreCan you put California king headboard on standard king frame?
Comments (4)With seven million headboards online, why not get the right size? Otherwise a bargain it is NOT. If you want the bargain? A better install is to bolt the headboard legs to the WALL ( find the studs ) and shove the frame and its mattress up TO the headboard. To get flush to the wall? Cut away the base molding, and note if the headboard is open enough below, to allow access to any electrical outlets. Or....... screw a 1 x 4 cut to length to the back of the headboard, and drill and do that just below your mattress height. I do this for any custom upholstered headboards. They ALL shake unless bolted to the wall. Fame legs aren't enough, especially a standard metal "hollywood" type frame....See More- 4 years ago
