My dining dilemma
Comments (2)It is so refreshing to have clicked on your post and to have found a REAL formal family dining room. It is lovely furniture. Most of the time what people call dining is nothing more than a eat in kitchen. If you are thinking of blue, get some samples from the paint store and paint it on poster board and see how it looks on the wall. Personally I prefer lighter drapes in a dining room. Sorry, I can't help you more with a specific color....See MoreDining Dilemma in Tiny Townhome
Comments (33)I think you could free up enough space for a table with a few tweaks. The sofa centered on the wall is making the spaces on either end of it useless. Bur you don’t think you can slide it to one side necause it’s also cenrered on the TV. The TV cabinet is also centered on the wall and the TV is centered on top of the cabinet. I would move the couch to one side, move the TV cabinet as much in the same direction as possible, then move the TV in that same direction so it’s to one side on the cabinet. I t should now be pretty much in front of the couch for biewing. Provide some balance with a tall lamp next to the TV or hang some art doectly above the now empty space next to the TV. I would also think about a drop down shelf attatched on the kitchen wall that can be raised for dining. Kind of like this:...See Moredining wall dilemma
Comments (30)For anyone curious how things are going so far…. Here’s a picture of my progress so far. I added picture frame molding to the wall, the two wine racks on either side, the really big photo in the middle. I plan on painting the credenza a soft, black color. and plan on either replacing the light fixture but at the very least lowering it. I’m still looking for a rug to go under the dining room table....See MoreHELP PLEASE!! Dining Room dilemma!
Comments (13)The first thing I’d consider is how to meld two very opposing rooms’ styles and suggest addressing dining room first, given it will be more difficult. Hope the concepts below help and if not liking the actual choices, just consider your comfort level and taste. Think big picture, so I’d paint both rooms a fresher, lighter color and add rugs that create a connection. Dining room: could paint the ceiling, slip cover the chairs, and replace the pictures. A big issue is how dark and heavy the room feels and I think it could be transformed and help tie in your chandelier and living room. Interesting sets of vertical prints on both sides. If brave, replace sideboard and you won’t need to slipcover chairs to achieve a lighter feel in room. An eclectic room will merge a traditional feel into a more refreshing look. Living room: rug and cushions that connect with dining room and lower the art....See MoreRelated Professionals
