Comments (3)This was taken a few years ago at the very beginning of the Christmas season, hence the garland on top of the entertainment center. We now have new sofas and chairs but the center remains the same. Jodi-...See MoreWould love assistance in styling my entertainment center!
Comments (9)I honestly don't think it looks like it needs tons of improvements. How desperately do you want folks to be able to see what's in the cabinets? I'm sure in real life they look clearer than from the photo. The thing I think most detracts from the look are the small black speakers on top. You say they are moving, are they needed? If so, they would look better on that top shelf than on top against the light wall. If they blend into the background of the dark top shelf, so much the better. Is navy part of your color scheme? If not, I would try to find something more neutral to cover the bottom doors, maybe some type of grasscloth? Or just paint or stain the wood underneath. Can't quite figure out what is up with them....See MoreNeed advice on how to center entertainment center
Comments (19)We are for sure doing away with the black trim! Lightening everything up! This house was added on to several times, which is why the layout isn’t what one would consider ideal. The wall with the large opening/thick black trim was actually an exterior wall at one point (the room in question didn’t exist then). At a point after that, the wall that will have the entertainment center was an exterior wall. Then they added the master suite onto that which is the doorway to the right of the entertainment center. I like the “open” concept with the large opening, but I also realize that comes to the detriment of easy furniture placement decisions. Only 2 doorways into the living room. One from the dining room, one from the master bedroom....See MoreRug for living room - please help
Comments (2)Adding two swivel chairs (in fabric) to your old couch would have been a better choice. All of those pieces are oversized for your room and there are too many of them. Any time you have to angle big pieces or when they overhang the end of a wall, you've got the wrong furniture for the space. Can you return them and start over, or is that the only style they have in stock? If keeping them, then go for the full on man cave look. Put husband's favorite seat directly in front of the TV and then adjust the other pieces into a "U." If you take the sides and bridge top off the entertainment center, he can get a bigger TV. Don't worry about a rug until you optimize the seating. Rug should go 1/3 to 1/2 way under all the seats....See MoreMeredith Keeney
