Comments (22)I'm another huge fan of Yves Piaget; even a few blooms on the bush make such an impact in the garden. jo and Kippy, great pictures, thank you. jo, the blue companion plants are so pretty with the roses. Interesting how many of us have strong color likes and dislikes. I love the color that Carol can't abide, and I on the other hand have a deep dislike of red roses, which so many people are very fond of. Comments (9)McTavish, I missed your earlier comments. Yes, my mother Pauline greatly inspired me to remember plants and people are alike: most are wonderful in their own way! Just need to keep them all in perspective! My favorite from my Mom: all of them! Having "lived" with them from start to finish and knowing how she developed/picked/named them, it is hard to find just one. Obviously Gold Standard set the pace! Alex Summers doesn't have any offspring that are involved in hosta, although his son Allan ran the Carroll Gardens (Maryland) operation (I believe he was the owner?) for awhile. Comments (6)Well, he made it home and is sleeping, having stayed up half the night last night and then having to get up so early. He did say he was going back tomorrow. We'll see. I just saw some things with the paint job that this guy did that I'm not real happy with, big places in Lauren's room and bathroom where the helper left unsanded after spackling. It looks like crap.
