Vanity top and faucet ideas for a quick bathroom update?
Comments (4)Thanks to you both. A minor update: I peered closely at the vanity and noticed that the baseboards were cut out to accommodate it, so it does make sense to leave the vanity in place rather than gettng into the hassle of matching and patching the missing trim. And I took my Silestone sample over so I could look at it with vanity, tub, and tlles and I really like the look. I see, however, that I could get an American Standard fireclay top for only about $170, which would look nice and clean and might be the most practical option. Hmm... I took a couple more pics of the vanity, which I'll post a little later....See MoreAny ideas for a vanity top?
Comments (6)It seems that 49" is a standard size for vanity tops. Have you already confirmed that you can't use a standard size -- if not that one then the next size down, 36"? You can get ready made stone ones in this size, with built-in sinks if you like, on ebay and in other places. Also, here's an auction where they want to get rid of a top and will cut it down for you. Where there's a will there's a way! If you really want stone you can get it for less. Kashmi mentioned checking on fabricators in your area. I found one fairly close to me who makes lots of vanities and can do it for far less using popular stones that they stock -- you don't pick your slab. If you can use standard cuts for length and number of holes you get an even better price. I had formica in my last house, and amazingly enough I never ruined it with cleaning products or nail polish. I was always afraid that I would hurt it, though. Here is a link that might be useful: ebay -- will cut down to your size...See MoreMarble vanity countertop. Good idea or Bad idea?
Comments (1)Quartzite could indeed be more durable. Granite? I'm not a fan of granite in bathrooms. But I really don't much like granite at all. If you're doing a marble basket weave on the floor, I'll come over your house myself and tear out the cultured marble top if you have that installed. ; ) I would encourage you to find a nice piece of marble and go with it. Your personality seems suited to marble. A fine piece of marble? In many ways it's unlike anything else out other. At times people lose sight of the fact that it's a living space. It's not a museum. You can get into habit patterns with lotions and potions that can minimize spills on to the marble. What ever you choose...enjoy! Unless you choose cultured marble. Don't say I didn't warn you! lol...See MorePainting Restoration Hardware Vanity????????? Help and ideas Please
Comments (9)I used General Finishes milk paint --- I have no clue why it's called milk paint as it is suitable for indoor/outdoor use and dries to a very hard, almost enamel finish. It is super easy to use and has held extremely well for 3+ years now. https://generalfinishes.com/wood-finishes-retail/water-based-milk-paints-chalk-style-paints-glazes-pearl-effects/milk-paint If you look at their design center, they have plenty of pictures, https://designs.generalfinishes.com/ Specifically, kitchen and bathrooms: https://designs.generalfinishes.com/color-category/kitchen-bath-upcycled...See More- 4 years agolast modified: 4 years ago
