Brizo and Restoration Hardware Faucets?
Comments (0)I have been having so much trouble posting this. I put it at the end of another post but really need it as a seperate one. As you can tell I have so many questions and I just can't believe all the people with great ideas and experience so here's another question. I was so excited when I saw someone post that they had a Brizo hand held shower head in their bath! I just was in a store today and selected Brizo polished Nickel for the double shower. So it will be a handheld (3 water flow positions) on the pole with a thermostatic control that I will be using as an everyday shower. The other end of the shower will be the Brizo 3 position Raincan Showerhead (which has full spray, rain and massage features)and another thermostatic control for my husband. We currently have old Delta faucets in this shower. Since the tile is being redone it seems that this shouldn't be difficult to put in for a plumber. Does anyone have any experience with these showerheads? How is the multifunction on both these showheads? I would hate to buy them and then end up hating them. It's hard when you can't try them out. Now the other faucets in the bathroom (2 vanity faucets and 1 Roman Tub Faucet with a handheld) will probably be Restoration Hardware Compaign also in polished nickel. I just fell in love with them and can't find anything else in that style. I saw on this site that they are made by Newport Brass which is a good company but I don't get the impression that if there was a problem it would be easy to get parts or help. Their website is terribly for getting specific information and Restoration Hardware is not too good either. The problem is that the Roman Tub faucets from Restoration Hardware do not come with a handheld so I think I have to order it from Newport Brass and then hope it will be compatible. I need to call them tomorrow. I also, read on this site that plumbers don't like installing these so that scares me a little. Anybody with any experience with any of this? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------...See MoreRestoration Hardware catalog
Comments (20)I LOL when I saw those book bundles w/ a price tag of $29.99! I thought 'Man - have they finally run out of ideas to get my money? I could do that myself but I wouldn't becuase who would do that to a book? And unless you found books like that in someone's trash who would pay money to buy books to do that?'. Although I love the look of the greyed and weathered wood I'd never buy it. Too pricey to have to put a finish or protectant on it myself. When DH was cleaning up my $2 coffee table I went to the shop to see it. There it stood in all of it's greyed beauty. "IT'S PERFECT!" I shouted and threw my arms around him. "It's not done" he said. "It still has to have a stain or protectant put on it if you ever want it around the kids." We settled on oiling it. When I turned I saw a gorgeous DR table that had the exact same finish as the RH stuff. I said 'Oh wow! That table is like the new RH look!' He said "That one's raw too." I said (and I really am not making fun or light of those folks who love and can afford the stuff - I wish I could!) "Are you telling me that people are paying $5K for a table that's not finished?" "Yep." And the thing is that the stuff really isn't exclusive to RH. They buy a lot from BoBo (something or other) and I see stuff on other sites. But again - if I could afford it - I'd buy it. Just not the book bundles though :0)! Now I recall that RH was originally started by a guy who was having a hard time locating stuff to renovate his San Franciso Victorian. I wonder what he thinks now of the size of the RH furniture. Would it have fit into HIS SF Victorian? I haven't been in many SF Victorians but each SF Victorian home that my dad lived in weren't so big. Oh and yes, RH outlet is the place to go! I recently picked up 2 boudoir shams for $4.99 each, originally $49.99 each and 2 Euro's for $9.99 each, originally $69.99 each. Still can't afford the linen bedding though even at the outlet. Maybe once the porch is done and the kitchen is renovated I'll open an RH account strictly for that. The RH Garden stuiff is TDF this year as were the Garden catalogs!...See MorePlan too ambitious?? Comments (49)I have an update and would love to get some feedback before I order the final accessories. (Demo begins one week from today!) I got a quote for replacing the vanity with white cabinetry complete with a sitting area, plus hardwiring of sconces. The costs all added up to too much for me, so I'm sticking with my vanity and overhead lighting location. I feel great about my choices for tile, bath tub, paint, and fixtures. My worry is that all the little accessory details won't quite work together, diminishing the beauty of the bathroom as a whole. I need to buy the accessories soon; here's what I have in mind. With overhead lighting instead of sconces, I prefer one large mirror. The mirror is by Pottery Barn, a wooden frame with gold gilt, 72" x 36". Perfect size for the space, very very very hard to find. This is technically a floor-length mirror, so I hope it can be mounted horizontally! PB customer service was useless when asked. The lights are also PB, polished nickel. For practical reasons, I ruled out any overhead lights that take type B bulbs (too dim) and have fabric shades (too hard to clean). As a big plus, these are on sale for $170 each. Do they go with the mirror and the rest of the room? Chandelier is PB, 18" diameter, antique brass, UL-listed. This will be over the tub on a dimmer. It was hard to find a chandy that's not too big, ornate, and/or expensive. Knobs and pulls are glass and polished nickel from Restoration Hardware. Towel ring, TP roll, and hook are Ballard Design in polished nickel. Fabric for the roman shade is gray on cream linen. Shower bench is Signature Hardware in teak. I hope this will help tie in the wood of the vanity with the other side of the room. Towel warmer is polished stainless steel (no nickel option) from Signature Hardware. If anything doesn't quite mesh or looks wrong, I would love to hear, as well as any suggestions for alternatives!...See MoreNeed 55" Double Vanity in Design of Restoration Hardware Hudson Vanity
Comments (15)Hi Patty, thanks for your comment! After much research, I think I’m going to buy a wooden vanity with a stone top. I found a picture of the floor tile in a bathroom with a wood vanity and I like it, so now I’m going to try to source something similar. Posting a pic of the bathroom and of a vanity I found that I may buy but worried the walnut (and possible design) won’t look right against the tile. Would love your thoughts as well as anyone else’s! Thanks!...See Morenosoccermom
