Comments (15)NewGirlinNorCal....... I love my junipers planted on the slope in back of my house. The previous owner planted four different kinds of shrubs that go all the way across the property and cover the whole slope. I am so grateful for those plants. That slope is pure rock. She must have needed a jackhammer to dig the holes for the plants. They also hold the slope in place. Of course they have been there since the mid-60s, so they are mature and, to my eye, healthy plants. I wouldn't even think of trying to plant a rose up there. There's a place for junipers, but I agree to use them for just a hedge where the space could be used for roses ... be gone with them ! careytearose......... You go, girl ! Please share photos as you create your new version of paradise. Smiles, Lyn...See MoreIt's been a while...
Comments (49)Marcia, yes she does like flowers! Last year I taught her not to pull on the flowers, so she says "pat pat" and pats them. She thinks sea holly is hysterical because it's "sharp". The other day my mom found her with her face sideways on the ground and her butt in the air, having a conversation with a caterpillar. I haven't started a garden for her yet but I've been thinking about it....See Moreit's been a while :)
Comments (14)TA DAA! simon won TWO first place ribbons. i'm gonna have to take him down a notch, he's getting a little too uppity now. have you ever tried to take a corgi down a notch? it ain't easy, their legs are only 2" long! got home late yesterday, 7 p.m., wanted to do a quick check to see if my bluebird momma had added anything to the nest. she is building with NOTHING but pine needles. i put my finger down inside to see if the cup was complete so i would know when to expect eggs. i have not checked for 3 days other than opening the box and taking a peek. imagine my surprise when i felt AN EGG!!! :O there is hardly any NEST there! so i got my little mirror out. well, there wasn't AN egg...THERE WERE 3 EGGS!!! i rushed around and made a sparrow spooker and got that up and when i came home today, i checked and yep, FOUR EGGS! she was sneaky!! i have to tell you guys, they set gary's headstone at the cemetery on saturday. when i went to see it after they finished, as soon as i got out of my truck and started walking toward gary's grave, i heard a bluebird, looked up and saw a male sitting on the wire that goes almost directly over gary's grave. i was there for almost 30 minutes and he stayed the whole time, flitting around from place to place, never out of my sight and singing the whole time. i took it as a sign from gary that he approved of my design. :)...See Moreit's been a while but maybe we have a buyer
Comments (31)well hi all, i am back to breathe for a moment! lessee, the contingencies are thus--the house has to appraise for the selling price, or they can back out. it's going to be close i think--but they really want it so i think it will be ok. they can also back out if the inspector finds over 5000 worth of repairs needed--seriously doubt that will happen. they asked us to move the dates up a week so inspection in tow days on monday, lending commitment decision on the 14th of june and close on the 21st. i have five weeks to empty apprx 4000 sq ft of 24 years worth of living and keeping livestock here. so i have two yard sales scheduled already for the first two weekends in june, plus next week will visit all the local used funriture dealers to get them out here, and i will have to rent a storage unit for whatever doesn't move. we're moving into our rv and plan to travel the countryside, so we're basically walking away from it all------winter clothes are first on the list to go, lol! i'm working hard at not being completely and totally overwhelmed!!!!!!!!!!!...See MoreJon 6a SE MA
