First time poster here! I've been learning and grabing all sorts of suggestions from all of you on this website since buying my first home! I'm now trying to make this home my own and give it some color. I went out on a bit of a limb and chose a brown for an accent wall (BM Fresh Brew, a rich brown with a definate red undertone). Now...to choose the right paint for the other walls. Eek! I had thought I wanted a yellowy-beige, but now I'm wondering if that's the way to go? My palette is definately more on the warm side. My front room is a great rusty orange (SW Armagnac) and the rug in there has lots of tan, yellow, green, red (Pottery Barn "Adeline" rug http://www.potterybarn.com/products/adeline-rug-multi/?pkey=crugs-blue-green) I've been looking at SW Ivoire, SW Row House Tan, Pratt & Lambert Indian Ivory, SW Croissant, BM Pittsfield Buff...there are so many colors out there it's exhilarating, yet overwhelming. Any suggestions would be so welcomed! Here's my accent wall. New fireplace mantel will be same color as trim (walls now are a medium beige) Image link:

I would change out the pillows on the sofa (or at least add a pillow) that has a print with some of the blue you want to incorporate into the room. I would do a lighter gray on the walls in the living room with a darker version of the blue on the accent wall, then I'd carry the lighter blue into the kitchen. I love yellow but I would only use it for accents on fabrics or art because its hard to find a yellow wall color like the one in your pillows that works well on walls. It is usually either too stark or too bright.

I sometimes like pillow shopping as much as I like shopping for jeans. :) I understand what you mean about sometimes posting and then not really getting any feedback. It can be a little discouraging at times. I usually end up feeling very,"Hello? Help! Anyone??" I think having blue in the pillows is a good idea and will help tie in the art (which I really like) I'll wait to see, but I think I'll really like the floral ones because they'll add some lightness and it ties in the blue. I agree to seeing the overload of pillows everywhere. I do think it sometimes looks nice, but I can't deal with that many IRL and once you actually add a few people to the room.... They're also not all going to fit in that 'basket' everyone speaks of unless you smoosh the heck out of them! A tower of pillows on the basket maybe.

The Van Gogh is the star here. Print pillows will distract the eye from it. Just pick one color from the art and do a solid pillow in that color. Then sprinkle it around the room in accessories.
