Do I Need BackSplash? Help with Suggestions!
Comments (27)Posted by budgeteer_s (My Page) on Wed, Dec 31, 08 at 18:18 Thanks for all your suggestions. I wanted so much to follow with ci_lantro's suggestion because then I'm done. I'll gladly let you snatch that paint brush out of my hand. ha ha. But at the same time if a little tiling will tie up the project, then I'm game. jodi_socal: I'm a little disappointed when you said fire and ice won't work. I just LOVE that F&I BS. But then agin, I think I know all along it's a little too much for my kitchen. Caryscott & petra: Thanks for the picture petra, it says a thousand words. Is spectralight glass tiles? Prices are pretty reasonable. What about that milk green color? will it work? maybe with some garnet pieces sparingly mixed in. I will take some pictures and post two HD Behr's paint card to aid in the discussion of color. Thanks again ALL! Correction: My tiles were Alfagres: Gema4x4: different from what caryscott posted: I loved what caryscott linked:...See MoreNeed help choosing backsplash for soapstone counters/oak cabs
Comments (32)I was looking at this website about choosing a color scheme. According to this, my kitchen has a split complementary color scheme. My wall color is blue. The complement is orange. The split complementaries are yellow-orange (my cabinets) and red-orange (my Brazilian cherry floors). I also have a good dose of neutrals with my appliances and light fixtures and gray countertops. In addition, my walls are a grayed blue to tone down the blue, allowing the split complementaries to shine. My stone does not read as "green" as the previous picture of the Frank Lloyd Wright kitchen. I'm really not fond of the monochromatic color scheme currently popular. My kitchen is a lively place and the bold color scheme fits it well. I am confused as to why others feel the colors are fighting with one another? Regardless, finding a suitable backsplash is proving to be a challenge....See MoreNeed help selecting a backsplash, please!!
Comments (30)@Millalm yes, he does have a point lol! His suggestion is to use the diamond only on the back wall, and then leave the granite border under the pass-through and also leave the 4” border on that very awkward wall that separates the kitchen from the dining and living space. That wall contains the panel. I wish it could be removed, but it can’t, sadly. I am not sure how I feel about leaving the granite border under the pass-through and on that left wall. You can tell this has my mind going in circles lol! So many decisions and factors to consider. I appreciate everyone’s feedback. Truly!!...See Morehelp! Which backsplash/counter top for oak cabinets
Comments (5)I'd go w a slate look vinyl tile. and the middle choice of the formica in row of five. A mini trac lite above sink and serpentine one in center of kitchen will assist w lighting . Then the slate look floor will ground the space/not be so dark and help the oak go for another lease on life as per your decision.... [ consider swap of some uppers for glass doors] . Not sure about beige sand cream floor tones...just get a slate look /classic/ hard to beat....See Moresunshine home
