Should I just kill myself now?
Comments (47)Before you kill yourself, you can come over and put me out of my misery. I thought I had Lyme, but that test came back negative. Whatever I have, has made it almost impossible to walk for the last six weeks, so I haven't been out in the garden much. When I have been out, I've been shocked at how much has been eaten. I didn't mind a few nibbles now and then, but this is wholesale carnage in certain areas. This is after I almost ran over a very young fawn with the garden tractor this spring and made it run off, hopefully for good. (this is for the people who worry about mowing chipmunks) A fence is definitely in our future, but I really don't see how to only enclose the garden in a manner that doesn't look like a fortress. I'm also not sure I've really got enough room between my gardens and my neighbor's property....See MoreJust feeling sorry for myself
Comments (20)I think your good wishes helped! This morning my leg is almost to normal (well, normal for me) and the redness is barely pink now. It's not as itchy, either. I did manage to put some lotion on the parts of my foot & leg that were not so angry looking, and that helped. Plus I think the antibiotics are starting to kick in, since I have noticed the lymph glands under my arm pits and at my neck are also no longer swollen. They were swollen before I got the cellulitis, so I think I might have been dealing with a low grade infection. That's pretty common for me with this stupid lymphedema. Today I think I can put some lotion on my entire leg, the skin is softer now and not painful to the touch. So THANK YOU all for your good wishes. It helps a lot to be able to whine once in a while! Oh, Hhireno, my FANTASTIC vacay was a couple weeks ago. It was amazing, better than I imagined it'd be. I want to go back and I'm anxious for the next concert....See MoreOMG I just got back from the Twilight Zone
Comments (7)I thought I was in the Twilight Zone today too. I have a PC and a Mac on my desk at work but only one monitor. There is a button on my desk that toggles between the 2 computers. All of a sudden I was toggling back and forth every time I touched the keyboard!! I just thought the whole system had gone bonkers. I finally found the "button" under the keyboard so every time I touched the keyboard it was pushing the button. I felt really blonde. Linda...See MoreJust got back from Urgent Care........
Comments (34)Glad you got it out! You did the right thing by going to Urgent Care. Many years ago when we lived in LA, I had a wonderful small room off the landing. It had multiple storage closets and a built in counter. It was a perfect sewing room! I used my husband's rug from bachelor days - a Marimekko shag rug in various greens and blues. I told my husband and my children to NOT come in that room barefoot as it was a SEWING ROOM and there is no way on earth to not drop the occasional pin on the floor. With this shag rug, it was difficult to see any that were dropped. Well, of course my husband paid no attention and came in there to ask me something and stepped on a pin. He sat down and pulled it out and that was it...or so he thought. Over the next few days, his foot got more and more sore. He soaked it in hot water and epsom salts. No better. It was now hurting a LOT. So, a week or so later, he finally went to our orthopedist as he was sure he had broken something in his foot. The doctor x-rayed the foot, came back in, numbed the area, and proceeded to remove PART of the pin DH had stepped on. The doctor then said it was obvious that my husband was a math teacher and not a physics teacher, or he would have looked at what he pulled out and realized that the pin had broken and part of it was still in his foot! No, he still went barefoot even where I sewed......See MoreUser
