Your Sunday Dinner time to eat!
Comments (2)We have our main meal about the same time every day--7 p.m. When we worked, I didn't get home until 6 so it's still a habit. Also, by eating later DH doesn't snack all evening. Grew up like you. Sunday dinner after church. Same menu every week. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, a vegetable or two (depending on the season) and home-made yeast rolls. Only thing that varied was the type pie mother made. My favorite was banana cream. Made her own crust using lard and it was flaky and delicious!!! Once in a while we'd have cake--all made from scratch. That was back when cake mixes first came out and most cooks looked their noses down on them! LOL!! Sunday evening my dad cooked--he made popcorn!!...See MoreI'll Show You Mine, If You'll Show Me Yours, Sunday August 17
Comments (11)Wow, such beautiful and interesting photos today. Moni, an Eagle's nest always awes me. Alisandi, that cloud filled sky looks like Fall. Not yet, please! Bigack, that looks just like my Chicago Apache. Socks, I would go to Alaska if someone would gaurantee me a picture opportunity like that. Kathy's hummer and Dave's keen eyed bird would make a great pair to breed. Just think about what talents a combination of the two would come up with. Sharing dinner...See MoreI'm done! Comments (13)I rode to church today with Cheryl, the night before we went to the Fall Festival at church and that was fun. Alyssa was Little Bo Peep. After church we went to our business where the men were putting in a new overhead garage door. We picked up Norm and Kevin sandwiches and Cheryl and I had some too. They were from Hardee's. Then Cheryl and I had to go to Sears in another town to get a new garage door opener. We also went into Joann's and I bought some really reasonable fabric. Then back to the business to leave the garage door opener. Back at home we took the dogs out, fed and watered the chickens and a ride on the big rig. Then off to Amber's to see them. The men came and we had pizza from Pizza Hut and Little Cesar's. I just got home and will go to bed soon. Busy day again tomorrow. Comments (17)Kathi, I swear by Olympus. I had an Olympus Camedia C740 with 10x zoom when I went to Antarctica and not a bad photo in the bunch, so when I accidentally dropped that camera on Thanksgiving, I needed to buy another one quickly because we were beginning a home remodel the day after Christmas. After some research, I decided to stick with Olympus and this time got the SP-550UZ with 18x zoom for about $280. Same great color and clarity. And the 18x zoom is awesome. We'll see how it does in Japan, Russia, Alaska and Canada when I leave on my cruise next weekend. Keep in mind, these are not small pocket cameras by any stretch of the imagination, but to me, so worth the hassle of carrying it around.
