Hey Paintguy, thanks for your info. I did go to SW and look at the Duration & Resilence LIFETIME warranty paints. They look great ... the sales guy said you could even lightly power wash them... REALLY???!!! I've never heard of C2 or Grahams in the central Arkansas area. What do you think of Valspar's mildew resistent, LIFETIME warranty paint. It was $36 per gal. as compared to $53 & $48 per gal. on the SW paints. Thanks for the advice on not using flat paint also... satin it will be!

How fun to design an office! I like the idea of facing the desks to each other. I'm thinking it might be better to put them under the window; no one has their back to the door and there might be less glare on your computer screens if they're perpendicular to the window. Distance between desk edge and the wall is really personal preference, but I think around dining tables it's a 32" minimum if no one needs to pass behind. I'm not sure if your existing desk tops can be paired with the Skarsta bases, but we really like our Skarsta. The base is adjustable with a hand crank so you can easily move your desktop up and down so you can sit/stand. It's nice to change position if you're working at your computer for long periods. With your desks below the window I thought you could put the file cabinet at the end of the desks and the guest chair in front of the interior window. We use Elfa from the Container Store in our home office and are very pleased. They can handle a lot of weight and you can design the shelves to work around your fridge. You can also hang varying depths of shelves (e.g. you could have shallow shelves above the fridge, but deeper shelves at counter height and below for a standing work surface and larger item storage if you need it.)

It's hard to tell because I'm looking at a photo but it appears your tile has a yellow or green undertone to it (like I said, it's hard for me to tell from a photo as everyone's monitor reads color differently) whereas Wind's Breath has more of a red undertone that will fight it. If I'm correct and the undertone is green in the tile, the Nature's Essentials will be a better match. Best to buy a pint of both and paint them on the wall next to the tile to see before committing.

Waynette, Home Depot will be initiating such a data storage system in a few weeks. It always has had the option to store your data if you requested it, however, in the near future, all sales will be recorded by your phone number. I have no problems with BM products other then there high prices. During my 4 decades of contracting, BM was my primary paint company. BM has high prices, as does SW, but at least BM gets high ratings from the national rating companies, something that SW does not always. I always consul those contemplating having work done, to ask the contractor to state exactly which paint he intends to use. DO NOT simply accept SW or BM, but ask specifically what label he intends to use. All the major manufacturers make really good paint, but they also make that infamous "contractor grade" stuff that so many new homes get stuck with. THEN CALL THE PAINT STORE and ask where on the quality scale his paint stands. If he is not using top of the line paint, find another painter. He is looking out for his bottom line, not the quality of your paint job! AT least as far as residential work goes, the price of the paint is only a few percentage points of the total bill. You are paying for labor. Hopefully, honest, quality labor. During my contracting years, I was selling a complete service. The cost of the paint and getting it to your house was part of my service and included in the bid.. Often, a BM color fan would be left with the customer for them to choose colors in advance, or at least get an idea of what they might want to use. Finally, be wary of any painter who asks for money up front. If he doesn't have good credit standing down at the paint store, he is living close to the edge. NEVER make final payment until you are completely satisfied.
