Can you show me your rose beds (or, where do you plant your roses
Comments (34)CI, TZ, SdlM all growing nicely now. I think this will be a good fragrance bed. I put Lion's rose in the back to add beauty and a good leafy background even though it isn't much on scent. I think if the base gets shaded by the others, it won't get disease. There's room to the right of Abe Darby for one more big rose. I think it's going to be Evelyn. Hopefully, it will work some magic for me. This is a good morning sun spot and gets shade in the hottest times of the day. My summer is a little hotter than Hoovb's but maybe it's close enough. I'm going to hope for the best. The only downside to this location is that it will take the full force of the Santa Ana wind from across the street. We are along the Santa Ana river channel and the wind blows strongly through the gap. It seems to be shifting later than Halloween now. I used to call it the Halloween Wind....See MoreShow Me Your Stained Red Oak

Comments (26)Falstaff William Shakespeare 2000 Munstead Wood I like the deep purple-red densely petaled flowers with intense fragrance and they must be tolerant of heat. Of course since the sunlight is so intense here, the flowers tend to absorb too much heat when they are so dark. I still haven't found the perfect one, but these make me pretty happy....See MorePlease show me your Kim Rupert roses =)
Comments (40)Kim, it was me that asked you if I could share with Mindy cuttings but it was of Lynnie. Unfortunately so far my Lynnie has been stalwart for several years under not great conditions but hasn't grown big enough to take cuttings. I still have hopes of her and will be sending Mindy a bunch more cuttings this season. I have a request for cuttings of Lauren myself from a friend since I can't find her anywhere. I'll keep you posted if that works out and I can pass along anything to Mindy over the years. Thanks for the permission as well as the terrific roses you have bred. Cynthia...See Morealtorama Ray
