Little Bo Peep Has found Her Sheep
Comments (11)Hi everyone, I'm back I had a wonderful visit. Felicity is such a good baby and just adorable. thank you for all your kind comments on the table. Jeanne I love those doilies too.i found them at a ts; The only reason I wish I had the boxes is because the dolls names were on them. Thank you Creek I did have fun putting it together. Marlene thank you I really love pastels and I think Spring is finally on it's way. Karen I had all I could do not to hide her in my jacket and bring her home with me. My DD wants to put the pictures of the table in Felicity" baby book. It will be fun to do the table again when Felicity and Caroline are older and have a Tea Party little girls love them ~~~so do we big girls. I'll be back to comment on the posts I missed later on i had cataract surgery yesterday and my eye is getting tired now. Nana...See MoreFound some items to paint
Comments (7)Gram, I just bought some small paper doilies. I'm trying to make some "wooden" valentines cookies with different "toppings" on them. Wanted them to look like the ones Minnie postefd on the crafts or holidays forum. (Her's are real.) Thought I would use a doily as a stencil on a couple of them. Make them look like I sprinkled powdered sugar on them. I think I've stenciled over a doily before but it would have been eons ago! I have seen lace used on projects and it looked beautiful--just haven't had occassion to try it myself. Probably wouldn't want to ruin the piece of lace--I love lace! Ha ha I have some old bottles of texture paste, so I used some of it to ice a few of the "cookies" last night. The one product really looked like icing! Sure hope nobody picks one up when I am not looking--wouldn't want anyone to break a tooth! LOL Not sure this project will be worth all the cutting and sanding--but decorating them is sort of fun! I think my post about the painting roses on suitcases video is on the Trash to Treasure forum. This suitcase was only 99 cents, so figured "Why not"? I often want to try things--but then have no place to use them. I used to let that stop me, but now I figure I will just do it and enjoy myself. I can always have a YS or donate it to Goodwill, right? Paintingfool, Bet that was a good book. I have a couple of magazines with painted teapots in them. I've also seen some on ebay and on some of the Shabby Chic sites. I am sort of curious about this one--the metal is different from most that i have seen--not copper but very gold colored. It's really heavy and the inside is beautiful. We use Maas polish on the silver and pewter items at the store--so I think I will try that on this one. Just want to see if I might have found a diamond in the rough! LOL If it doesn't clean up and look good, then I will spray paint it and paint some roses on it. What a great idea with the bowls. Bet they are wonderful. That sounds like challenging painting too. You are just amazing. I think it is so fun to hit a YS or TS and look for things to revitalize with paint. That duck I found has to be from the 80's. I think I have a painting book with a whole bunch of them in it. For 55 cents, I couldn't not give him a 2nd lease on life. I think I will sand him off and repaint him--he'll add a little whimsey in my sideyard flowerbed. Happy painting! Luvs...See MoreFound Some! New, Crisp, Cool, Cotton Percale Sheets
Comments (97)I have some of the Target Threshold percales. One set was returned a month later as the fitted split down the middle, another was returned several months later falling apart at the elastic. Some of the print ones are rarely used but are ok...a white fitted that's used all the time is shredding at the elastic corners..Threshold has several makers, some are made in China and some in India. some of the exact sheets feel ok in the package and some feel like parachute fabric. Although with sheets now being treated with different chemicals like insecticide you really can't tell how a sheet will really feel until its had a number of good washes. All in all most of the Threshold sheets are worth buying, they arnt expensive so I guess if you use them regularly and they last a year its all good. Personally I feel sheets should be an investment, buy a few really good quality sheets and your set. I only use vintage percales, 100% long staple cotton....love them....See MoreDo you find Royal Tiara, Hideout, Gypsy R,Little Treasure late to pip?
Comments (14)Today's inspection revealed that Royal Tiara is busting out of the soil, High Society actually seems to have 1 eye of pip, Paisley Print pipped for the first time today, Little Treasure might have a pip or two, Paradise Island has some big reddish pips it didn't have yesterday, Dinky Donna (one of my new babyhostas I got last year, still potted) has a single fat pip, Gypsy Rose (yay!) is up. Both Coconut Custards are up. I think a teeny green thing I saw by Yellow Polka Dot Bikini is the tip of a pip. Still missing entirely are Maui Buttercups, Ivory Queen, and both First Mates (never a good performer at all!). The baby heuchie Marmalade still has its 2 or 3 little baby leaves. I'm hoping it will grow a lot more. Another heuchie, in its own pot vs the ground, is Georgia Peach, looking like a million bucks. I can hardly wait to see what pops up tomorrow. It's supposed to be nice weather, so maybe I'll take the iris-retention fencing down to dig out some irises which have overgrown their designated area. Already have adoptive homes for whatever I dig out. I can't believe it, my dicentra already put up a spike of flowers!...See Moredianela7analabama
