Comments (4)actually, I did just that on Monday. She said natural hair color, hair type, overall health, previous coloring, etc. etc. will affect color. The good colorist will try to reduce the variations and achieve consistent coloring from session to session. In my head I'm thinking that being vocal (in a nice way) when color is too red, too dark or whatever, will also go a long way. Going on slow days is prob. another way to ensure distractions are at a minimum when mixing colors and you get your stylist's full attention. I'm going to let it rest. To be clear, its not like my hair is light brown one session, and jet black the next. It was just that I was thinking that if I wanted Warm Brown #33, the specific formulation should yield the same look every single time. Apparently, applying WB #33, is no guarantee that you will get the exact same color every time, given other factors, (hair type, prev. color, etc)...See MoreFDA investigating reports of hair loss, hair breakage, balding...
Comments (14)I think, like so many things in life, what will work well for one person is a disaster for someone else I have very fine, thin, frizzy hair. Back when I tried Wen, I was also exercising hard every day - and I sweat like a pig. :-) Wen was a fiasco in my hair. First of all, I second the comment above about it never feeling clean. My scalp sweats, and the Wen just never seemed to get the sweat off the way regular products do. My scalp itched like crazy. What made me finally give it up though was that my hair got progressively more limp and yet more frizzy with each passing day. I hung in there for a while and tried everything I could think of - more product, less product, leaving it on longer, rinsing it off quickly. Didn't matter, Wen and my hair were not meant to be. I was turning into Roseann Roseannadanna on the stuff. Wasn't the look I was after. Glad people out there like it, but it never worked for me. I understand how it may clog pores or whatnot, the stuff felt heavy to me in my hair - which is maybe why my fine, limp hair just kept getting more and more limp, all the while fanning out like a peacock strutting its stuff....See MoreLong hair vs short hair
Comments (73)I also have frizzy hair. I'd like to try keratin, but I don't think I understand how it works. I'll have to research. When I was in my 20s, I used to comb Toni home perm solution through my hair in the shower. It would come out straight without the frizziness and it also bleached my mousy brown hair so it appeared sunkissed. I only did it once every couple of years because it was so hard on my hair, but man did it look good when I did. Well, you all convinced me and I just cut a couple of inches off the bottom to get back to shoulder length. I'd been growing it out over the summer, I did love being able to pull it back into a loose messy bun, but this is overall a better look for me. I can still get it into a pony tail, so still have some options. On the subject of going short, for me, I try to remember to go slow. I often think I want really short, but sometimes just a couple of inches is enough of a change. If it's not, then I go shorter. I once went from really long to a pixie cut. Big mistake....See MoreAva
