I was in my neighborhood "postal store" yesterday using their copy machine & a tall, slim, good-looking gal came in, I'd guess her age about late 30ties. She was obviously bringing something in to have wrapped & remailed to its source. I overheard her exclaim something about "$99 a month!". Being the curious type, I asked her what she was returning & she replied "Anti-wrinkle cream and it doesn't work!" She went on to say that this product was something she saw heavily advrtised on television (sorry I forgot to ask the product name) & she bought into it, also not realizing it was some kind of ongoing beauty program that was going to cost her $99 a month. She said she thought of keeping her original order as a "moisturizer" but decided that even the first $99 wasn't worth it and "will I ever learn?" The charming lady owner of the postal business kind of smiled at that point and said that she was the fifth woman in the last month who had come in for a re-wrap & return mailing of that very same product! What is it about if something seems to good to be true....

I can't remember the last time I used anything but Redken products for my hair - decades. I don't need to buy those formulated for fragile hair so I don't have a specific product out of their many to recommend to you.... But I don't buy them from my stylist and she never questions, it's a non issue. I shop from a variety of online hair care sites, buying in bulk from whichever has a free shipping special in effect. Sometimes the drugstores will carry some of the Redken products although not the full line. The beauty supply places located in some malls will have BOGO specials other times....if the price is right, I stock up. I'd imagine that's true of any of the salon brands, you really don't have to buy a favorite product paying the in-shop full price.

No discoveries for me yet. An electronic acquaintance, who is enthusiastic about laundry products, freely admits to having stashes of them squirreled away everywhere. The upside was that she was able to supply friends and family when things got scarce. While she was hospitalized for COVID-19 (it does look like she'll recover, btw), her husband discovered her stashes. One of them included something like 3 cases of hand sanitizer refills. She was shocked but happy that he was filling bottles for everyone they know.

I've been looking for a tinted lip balm--thanks for the Elf and Burt's Bees recommendations. I don't care for lipstick and only wear it a few times a year. I like some color, but I certainly don't need anything that lasts more than a few hours. After I drink/eat in public, I'm always prepared to reapply. I had a BB lip balm pre-Covid and really liked it. I have fine hair, and have been using a hair care line from my stylist that's very good but pricey. I ran out a few months ago, and it wasn't convenient at the time to get more. In a pinch, I bought this Pacifica Vegan Silk shampoo and the conditioner from Target. They are great products for my hair, and I now rotate them with the more expensive stuff from my stylist.
