Need help with window treatment for the whole house!

We bought a new build home. It is a 2 -storey corner house in a subdivision. The house is east facing with the garage on the south side. It's the first phase of a new subdivision so there is lot of construction around us. Also the houses are quite close to each other and privacy is an issue. The main floor has an open concept plan with a lot of windows. We like the natural light and have privacy when needed.
Interior:
Trim -white
Walls - builders beige
Main floor- natural finish read oak
Foyer, Kitchen, all washrooms - black tile
2nd floor - beige carpets
We didnt upgrade any of the finishes through the builder. We will paint the house and do a couple of upgrades in the next 1 or 2 yrs. We are leaning towards a modern farmhouse look. We just moved in and are using paper blinds as temporary window treatment. We need window treatment asap. And I need help on choosing the right one.
1) What kind of window treatment should I consider blinds or shades? We had white faux wood blinds in our previous home. We liked the look. But it was difficult to clean and it warped over time.
2) Dual zebra shades or roller shades with room darkening option ?
3) Should the window treatment match on the elevation of the house?
4) Should we buy window treatment for the entire house or address each area separately?
We would really appreciate the input from all the experts in the field.
Thanks,
Yashu
