Hi Airycat: I like art quilts and am trying to learn more. I belong to an art quilt group through my guild and there are some very artsy gals in the group. So far I have done a small vine-type quilt (saw a picture of it in an old magazine and copied). It turned out well (which surprised the heck out of me). I have done a lake scene (someone on this site was giving lessons...Teresa NC 7 listed under landscape quilts. I did an underwater quilt which everyone in the group liked and I was pleased with. I took a class in thread painting and have to finish that project (mountains, trees, lake, flowers, etc.) I must have ADD also since I have a problem completing anything large. Well I kinda..um..have a historical line of mishaps that kinda um..aim at my head lol..starting with a kitten defending himself from my generous help to get off the roof when I was five(I had this scar for years after)..then breaking my nose during a fierce snowball game when I was 12(did someone here ever had a complicated plastic surgery, no anesthesia? they didn't waste anesthesia on me back then..just tied me with belts..if you had it-you know..very helpful for the future when you need to encourage yourself or something)..and then to the various motor vehicle accidents, including being hit by a van.. I wouldn't say it's earthquakes per se..)) I also don't sleep at night for all sorts of reasons but earthquakes. it's more like I'm a well informed optimist lol..chances being hit in the head being statistically slim and all..))) (we had this saying: "a pessimist is a well informed optimist, an optimist is a well instructed pessimist.".))

Thanks for all the great ideas. I would like all the furniture pieces to stay in the room, plus no other spot in the home for them. I am going to move the dresser under the window and move the chest of drawers to the wall where the dresser currently is and see how that looks and feels. TV may have to go as it is rarely used anyway. Not having a mirror over the dresser will be a change for me, lol. neverbedone - thanks for the picture, it really takes care of the space below the window and looks nice and neat. Olychick - Could I used draperies that match the current color of my Roman shades? I do want to keep them as they let light into a drab north/east room. Mrs S. - You are right, moving the chest of drawers would definitely give us some extra space when walking into the room and in front of the bed. TV not used much and it may go out of the room. RITA - Not looking for actually suggestions for art, just sizes and a pleasing placement on the wall. If I move the furniture pieces as suggested above, I may be able to also hang a piece above the chest of drawers. Again, thanks for all your suggestions, they have opened my eyes to new possibilities with the room.
