How to Adhere a Shower Panel to Subway Glass Tile in the Shower?
Comments (6)Sorry I think you misunderstood, its a shower panel not a shower enclosure. A shower panel is a panel that has a shower head and body sprays on one panel. To install it they will have to drill through subway tile glass to screw in the mounting brackets and my tile guy doesn't know how they will drill through the glass subway tile he installed without cracking it. That is why I was wondering if anyone had experience with this without cracking the tile and the best method to be used....See MoreAdvice needed for options where shower glass meets tile/glass.
Comments (16)This is a pic of our shower using clips and silicone. The shower door is open. The silicone is along the wall and the bottom, where the glass meets the Torreon travertine. It is nearly invisible. The clips are drilled directly into the stone tile. There is framing behind it. (edit to say there are wood studs behind the tile) We initially did not have the rubber seal on the glass where it meets the door because the water did not splash out during the "test". The shower head is in the center of the shower but from this photo angle, it looks like it is close to the door. But once a body was in the shower, the water was deflected and came through the crack. Not a ton, but enough to need to wipe up instead of letting sit on the travertine floor. Hope that gives you a visual how clips will hold your glass....See MoreScratched glass mosaic tiles on shower wall - please help!
Comments (23)It sounds like you’ve received some good advice re: polishing your tiles. I’m just posting a comment to let you know how beautiful your glass tile looks! I actually have this tile saved as one of my options for the wall over my vanity behind my mirrors. Q - is there any natural light in your bathroom? If so, would you mind taking a photo during the day so I can see how the tile looks with natural light? I would really appreciate it. Also - and I apologize if this seems like a strange question - did you pick out the tile or did a female? I’m asking this question in order to prove a point with my significant other. I own my house (no mortgage) - so, when we decided to live together, I didn’t want to sell it and buy something else with a mortgage. However, I originally built this house with my ex-husband - so, I’m remodeling MANY rooms in order to make it “new” (even though my ex didn’t really give much input into the house when we built it - and I only shared this house with my ex for about 4 years - quite awhile ago). I am trying to be considerate by not making anything “too feminine” - this tile seems like a good choice for that. My significant other didn’t say that the tile is too feminine - but I‘m not exactly sure whether he believes that or not! I definitely don’t think it’s feminine - I think it’s an attractive option for my accent wall. His suggestions have been simply TOO BORING! I don’t want a sterile looking all gray/white/black bathroom. I do want to be considerate - but it still is my house so . . . LOL! One other Q - what did you choose for your vanity/wall paint/flooring? Thanks!...See MoreAre shower niches outdated?
Comments (9)I guess I'll be the lone dissenter. I've used corner shelves in showers at some hotels and airbnbs. I have difficulty even fitting my travel toiletries on them. Granted, I use a lot of products in the shower. I do like the idea of a long ledge. But aside from a long ledge, niches seem to be the only thing that can handle two 1-liter bottles (shampoo & conditioner), plus one or two bottles of leave-in conditioner, plus shave gel, plus one or two body wash bottles, plus face wash, plus possible face scrub, etc. And that's just for one person. Plus, I find I'm not knocking over things to get to other things on a shelf or niche vs. on corner shelves. FWIW, none of the niches in any of our three bathrooms have accent tile. We just ran the same tile on the back of the niche that's on the wall of the showers....See MoreDiana Bier Interiors, LLC
