I am not a pro but I do not think the grey will look good next to those cabinets. See what other say...

Racchel nye thank you for the comment! the hard floors we are keeping yes! I love them so much! so finding something to go with them is important. unfortunately at my home depot the only thing is gray. the current ceramic tile is cracked in some areas, and I hate the darn grout! just looking for something new. whicu ever tile we choose we are doing it in the front entry way as well

I like the gray tiles but I don't think it would match nicely with the color of the cabinets. I would suggest painting or staining the cabinets a lighter gray color or a dark brown almost black ebony color to match the tiles.

mark_rachel I like these. will they clash next to the existing hardwood floors? the hardwoods run throughout the whole house.

focal point hardware would you go with the dark gray tile almost charcoal or the light steel gray see below. painting the cabinets will be something we will consider for the future but not for now. the reason I thought gray would work is we are updating all of the existing white cabinets with stainless steel. thanks

I like the look of marble next to wood. I just googled that they have LVT that is marble like. Have no idea about quality/look. A large format marble would be beautiful.

Rachel Nye, I'll take a look . those are pretty samples. my local flooring store doesn't have much to offer. this is the warmest shade they had.

I don't think it works.

I feel like anything that has the hardwood look will not look good because of the grains together. I agree with Rachel in that the marble will not be competing with the hardwoods. I also like the color Rachel chose. Anything gray will clash with your cabinets as they are now unless you could find something with a grey and brown or tan tone in as well.

I do not like the top picture although the countertops are black which help but I still do not like the grey with the cabinets.

The others have tile that look on the tan or greige scope of color. The stairwell is a very different wood tone than your cabinets.

A. I'm curious why you are only shopping at Home Depot?

Lower quality (in many cases), very little selection that you can see, feel, and take home to try out. Home Depot gets styles that are, let's say, not current. When gray first took the home decor market by storm, home depot was way behind. Now all they have is gray? That's how you know it's a trend that passed by ;)

I would find a flooring store, or 3. Flooring stores near me are NOT significantly more $$$ than Home Depot, and there are people there to actually help you.

B. If you install flooring on TOP of what you have, will you be able to slide your dishwasher in and out?

C. imho, you have beautiful warm tones in your space. I think it will be more appealing to have warm-toned tile in your kitchen, whether LVT or ceramic. I would choose ceramic tile for the kitchen, but I'd rip out what's already there first. But LVT or ceramic, be careful of the patterns you see in just one tile. Buy a whole box (or 2) before making a final decision.

I agree with others, that I don't mind the floor you currently have. Get the grout steam cleaned (or painted, with grout paint that matches the tile), and it will be good to go.

Your living room is really pretty. On my screen, the sofas read a very warm, warm gray, which is really nice, and with that, in my non-designer opinion, the floors appear as a nice contrast. Maybe try to find a subtle flooring tile with the warm appearance and tone of those sofas. I see your vision now.

Edited: You can still order a box or two of the flooring before commmitting to all of it.

The sofa color looks like "halfway dried concrete" - its not as dark as concrete when its wet, but deeper (and browner) than dry concrete. I really like the idea of using that for a floor color. I know it will be hard to find.

Adura Max (the brand I'm most familiar with) has 3 things that might be worth looking at. Their website has a dealer locator that would help you find the closest dealer.

Lakeview Rapid is one, it has a wood look but maybe it's aged enough that it won't compete with the wood cabinets & floors?

Meridian in Fossil color is hard to get a read on. In real life I found it more speckled with light and dark areas. But it is a more intense version of your couch color, I think. More towards brown than gray.

Legacy with Beige veining is a big risk IMHO but it's a marble look that isn't cold in person. The background has a warm undertone and the veins are a brown/gray color instead of pure gray. I say it's a big risk because of the pattern. I'd be apprehensive to use it.

Love the fossil color as well ^ I think you want to avoid the trendy trap of gray. Browns will work better in that space.

3rd vote for the meridian fossil color (or something like that.)

Here's my thought about the darkness: that is not very dark, it's medium. And what you're going to do next, is improve the lighting in there. You can get inexpensive and very functional LED undercabinet lighting, put in a bunch of can lights (I know, not everyone loves them, but I do), improve the lighting over the sink....

and you have a nice white countertop and with those stainless appliances, the light's going to bounce around in there just fine.

I think the countertop looks nice as is. And blue is your accent color anyway, from the living room. If you are looking for what else you COULD do, maybe get rid of the short backsplash and do some pretty, glossy tile for a backsplash.

And new hardware to play off the stainless appliances.

But you should get the floors in first, and then think about other things.

Well, that little 4" vertical component of your countertop is considered a backsplash. I would cut it off, (if possible) and do tile.
