Tea Party table for the Partea Planners 'tea party'
Comments (37)purplemoon, thank you, well, since this treatment is going to last at least until Aug, I have to deal with good days (few) and not so good days, but I try to not have the bad days totally run my life...they just slow it down LOL Paintingfool, you just gave me a good belly laugh (Godiva) ha, only in my dreams, especially lately LOL I am glad that the tablesetting bug has gone to your family, there is nothing more pleasing than people actually using their "treasures" rather than making a shrine to them. To be lovinging touched and sharing a food event whether simple or elaborate is what makes the dishes special, because they were used with love. And each time the dishes are used they acquire a new patina of love every time they are used, now that is "priceless". And wow, 6 sisters, that means 6 opporutunites of beautiful tables and fun! dining delight, thank you too for your sweet words. I do hope what thoughts that come streaming out of this head (especially lately) are of some help to everyone, I defineatly do not have a claim to "engaging prose", I do the best I can, but of course if anyone has any questions I am always glad to take a poke at it. I do not consider myself an expert in any way. As I had said in the main forum under another thread, I do follow certain rules, but I do put up alot of others for grabs LOL, at this stage of my life I try to please me and others, the whole idea is to have fun, bring in color, excitement to what is a normal routine in most of our lives. My ears are burning in a good way, thankyou :) luvs, the Party Planner seems to be way behind on posting the photos, but if you go to her most recent comment about being busy...I think, you will see people that participated with comments, click on there blog sign and their blog will come up and you will see their teaparties....See MoreTea Cakes

Comments (19)Happy St. Pat's Day to all who celebrate. Sometimes I pretend the day doesn't exist and I'm mostly Irish with a touch of Scotland and Wales thrown in - all immigrant coal miners in the mid 1800's. DD is half. As a child growing up in Castle Shannon (a suburb of Pittsburgh) March 17th was the feast day of St. Patrick, not really the huge drinking event as it is now. The day began with a Mass in the Cathedral and then we'd march in the St. Patrick's Day Parade. I took step dancing lessons before someone decided that garish costumes and curly wigs were mandatory, sang all the old Irish songs with my dear Da, drank Brewley's or Lyon's tea with cream and sugar, and baked soda bread with currants with my Grandmother. We will have a special meal to celebrate this weekend when the kids come over for a birthday celebration. They always ask for corned beef and colcannon rather than the Irish stew or shepherd's pie we often had as kids. I took my son to Ireland for 10 days and we had great craic as they say - which means fun. He gallantly put up with me when I joined in the singing in the pubs at night but I spared both of us the embarrassment of dancing any jigs or reels. I hired a driver so that we could both sit back and relax and enjoy the scenery and not deal with the roundabouts and driving on the wrong side. DD's boyfriend is from London so we're trying to plan a trip to visit his family and then go on to Scotland or Northern Ireland. Maire...See MoreTuesday tea...on Wednesday : )
Comments (18)" listing all of the work I did building my house as if it were a job (it was, after all) and putting in plenty of buzz words about managing the project." that was a very good idea! you did do all of those things - and on your own. no need to tell them you were boss. tho, that's what others who operate a bz have to 'resume'. that was such a tremendous accomplishment! it'll come... maybe you could throw out a date in 2-4 wks and see what their reaction is. you could just be needing time to 'clear up loose ends' so you'll be totally on your toes at a new job. you can think of a better way of wording that. some days I struggle with my name - lol! ok, not quite that bad yet but I did think yesterday was Thurs and Friday! I started out going out to do errands to leave Friday clear for trash day... but before I left I put trash in the car to take to my sister's. Friday is trash day. her bin was out so by the time I got home I was very confused about what day it was... I'm another one who is so glad not to be in the work world anymore. I wasn't when I was first disabled (when I was awake to think about it) even tho I knew I couldn't hold a job anymore. now when I look around at what is going on in places - heck, I hardly want to go out to do errands anymore....See More- 5 years ago
