I chose pink drapes for a guest bedroom, grr!! - Need color advic
Comments (66)I erroneously selected a outwardly pink color for my attic office and when I returned home that night I hated it. My painter suggested one of BMs whites with pink undertone - Atrium white - and it was perfect. Should have checked with him BEFORE he painted as he was back changing it the next day. The point I am trying to make is that if you go for a pink, the most subtle color on a strip may end up being too much. Such was the case with my first choice which ended up looking like Pepto Bismol. Sue...See MoreHelp decorate bedroom around geometric curtains
Comments (55)UPDATE: Thank you, everyone, for all your help!! I mostly went shopping in my house, and changed things up a bit: 1. moved in blue-ish rug from desk area; got rid of ugly beige ombre rug 2. moved in dining room chair I wasn't using anyway; it's not awesome but it's better than the folding chair ;) and my mom made the quilt when I was a teenager, so... 3. moved in blue blanket from den 4. framed/hung watercolors my MIL gave me for Christmas -- not exactly what had been envisioning, but I love them and they are free ;) 5. new: big monstera plant from Trader Joe's of all places; it surprisingly seems pretty happy here 6. new: blue and white duvet cover (Overstock); blue bedskirt (Macy's); blue geometric pillow (HomeGoods) Eventually it would be nice to add an upholstered bench under the pics, and get bigger bedside tables + lamps -- but I don't want to spend the $$ on that right now. Overall, I'm happy with the room, and appreciated all the suggestions!...See MoreLooking for Bedroom Carpet Advice
Comments (8)If you haven't shopped for carpet in a long time you will probably be amazed by the variety available. Go to a real flooring store, not a big box store. They will let you bring home sample boards so you can see the samples in the light in your room. I have to say I don't love the bedding either. I think the white background doesn't go well with the warm tone of the wood the bed is made out of. Unless maybe it looks better in person? I have a similar bed. My quilt is cream and greige. My walls are Edgecomb Gray. The Revere Pewter looks like it's working with the bed however. I wouldn't buy curtains until everything else is in place....See MoreAdvice Requested for window treatment in master bedroom
Comments (2)Housson, I really like the look of the combination blinds/drapery panels in the photo you posted, above. But what do you think of the Roman blinds over the sea grass blinds on the side windows? They look odd to me…. Rather a valance over the sea grass blind? What do you think??...See Morepink_peony
