Removing a door --creative ideas?

For one of the projects we're designing, we are transforming a largish powder room into a laundry room. There's enough room for a stacking w/d and a laundry sink but with the door (swings in) its fairly tight. There's not really enough room on the sides of the door to do a pocket door (our original idea, but perhaps we can do half pocket doors?) and swinging out won't really work (or will it?). I suspect there aren't really any other options other than just getting rid of the door and leaving it open, but I don't know what I don't know so figured I'd ask the experts here if there's something I'm not thinking of... the current powder room floor plan is below (we're turning the closet across into a mudroom (i.e., taking off the doors and putting in a built in bench and cubbies)
