Lavender, you are so busy stirring the pot this morning, that I might never finish my bathroom painting job. But quickly, I have in the past painted old plywood floors in the family room at MoccasinLanding. White with a bright yellow border. It lasted about 2 years, even with several parrots dropping food and pooping in places. It was durable, did not require waxing. I was experimenting before I laid sheet vinyl. Lot of fun to do that kind of project. I had not thought of our Lexan windows being a creative project, but maybe so. We did them as clerestory windows in our master bath and walkin closet. I am doing the final touchup to the paint job in both areas, have yet to clean the paint off my fingers. We also created our sun porch with Lexan panels, quite strong, lets full spectrum light through for the plants and for the parrots who stay out there in warmer weather. But you knew all about that. I'm currently designing a tall linen tower for the master bath, using a pair of bifold closet doors (12" wide, 80" tall), plus a 12" wide 1" thick pine board for the back. I'll nail it to the wall, put fixed shelves inside, and then my towels will be all organized once again. I was planning to make two of them, but decided I'd buy a shorter cabinet about same w x d for a few other things. Something that looks Pottery Barn-ish. Of course, DH is yet to make the 36" wide x 10" deep x 36" tall storage for the dip-in behind the master toilet. It will have doors to hide all the pharmaceuticals and other non-display stuff that needs to be near a bathroom.

Brick: I think your brick is very attractive; I would not paint it. I do think the railing would look better if painted black or dark green. Landscape: Your pictures are very dark--is that a Japanese maple in the front of the house in the flower bed? Those shrubs might look better if they were shaped. Flowering shrubs and annuals would be an improvement, too. Not the time of year, I know. Paging Dig Doug's Designs! He has terrific ideas. I am not sure how much room you have on the right side, but I think an arbor would look really nice over there or in the front of your house with some climbing roses or other vines like clematis. Windows: I am not a professional, but I think your mini blinds do not go with the style of your home. Sheers or lace curtains would seem to look better. If you can't open your windows because they are nailed shut, it's time to think about new windows. I know you hate your brick and think your house is unattractive, but I don't think it looks that bad. This is the time of year when flowers fade and leaves fall. In my area, it seems cloudy and/or rainy/snowy all the time. Can't wait to see what you do with the place. Good luck!

Someone has to go under the house and determine what the exact problem is and then determine the best cost-effective way to fix it. No shortcuts for this problem because the problem may not be what you suspect. I realize you have a modular home, but this could be the same problem. The mudroom is unfortunately small and the only drop zone is the the sink, so not somewhere you would actually want kids setting down anything. (Not that it stops them) Yes, it's difficult because I'm realistic that the clutter will be set down somewhere. We always have school papers and laptops and whatnot, so at least keeping it contained could be useful. But my husband disliked that version, anyway. He did have me talk through the idea someone here had to move the doorway, but with the plumbing and tight layout, it just isn't really doable (not without losing the sink, but he uses that a lot for garage activity cleanup and I don't want any of that in a sink where food items would be).
