A couple of years ago I had the best time searching the web for Free Paper Dolls. I'm sharing a copy of a sheet that I had found in my "Favorites" file. So you can enjoy some time searching through or enlarge these to use. They are 1880 Victorian. I am using them to make a stringer/pendent. I put real lace around the waist to make them 3D. I'm sure you can search Angel paper dolls or "Ballet paper dolls" and find some closer to the first "Changel" shown up top.

Glad you made it home safe in this weather. Holy yappachichi its cold out there. I need to go migrate to Bob's house for the rest of winter, lol. My main water line blew up right as I was leaving to go to Austin to pick up the windows for the greenhouse with John. It looked like a geiser in the front yard. Thank god it didn't happen 10 minutes later. The whole yard and street would have been flooded. Thank god again Patties husband works for the water department and saved my behind and fixed it for me so we could leave. I got home and the water was fixed and back on. All I had to do was throw some compost in the hole he dug.It blew all the dirt out when it blew up and made a huge hole, lol. Got another surprise when I was out checking on things. Santa clause or that truck driver I gave the little tree too visited and left me more windows for the greenhouse and a brand new shelving unit for the greenhouse. I need to be nice to people for no good reason more often, lol. I was very thankful for those things. Having to drive to Georgetown tomorrow to look for more was not to my liking. Now I think I have enough to finish it. Welcome home Kylie now don't forget to come see me when you get a chance and get your pots or I can bring them to you one weekend if I can make John drive, lol. I have you a presssenttt too that came today. Whoohooo! I need to go to bed. Pain pills are kicking in,lol. Night.

Hi Desi. I moved here from Atlanta almost 2 years ago. I spent the first year in denial that it is any different than Georgia. Its definitely very different. The main things that bug me are: The slugs The summer droughts (1st year here, no real rain in my yard for 42 days!) The lack of heat in summer to get Tomatoes and tropicals (that I miss) like Brugs, Cannas and Elephant Ears growing really good. Its recommended to grow them South-facing, against a warm wall and it does work OK but the results are a little disappointing after growing them in the South. I see Brugs all the time here but they are usually smaller. The warmer weather is shorter here too. The flipside is that you get to grow all those things that it was just too hot for in Ga., like Lilacs, Rhubarb, Sweetpeas and Gunnera! You don't have to water in the winter. No hideous soggy 90 degree and 90% humidity days. We have an air conditioner and I think we used it about 10 days since we got here. Oh Yeah, I actually miss the thunderstorms. Here the rain is usually just a steady drizzle. Atlanta got more rain per year but it usually fell all at once. The things I wish I knew when I got here: How DRY the summers are. That many plants considered shade plants in Georgia are actually sun plants here. I been experimenting with hundreds of plants so let me know if I can be of any help. Laura

Yes, prariemoon, William Cullina is the director of the Botanical Gardens. It is a great place, with a large effort at celebrating native plants and landscapes. Also, a FUN children's garden! I will have to utilize them in my search for shade plants. nhbabs, thanks for reminding me to take some good "before" photos. I didn't do that at my old house and always regretting not being able to show off the results of hours and hours and hours and hours and hours of rejuvenating it. This garden is in better shape than that one, but some before pics would be fun to have as it still needs some attention. I know the seller was a gardener, but I think many of us will reach a point in life where life itself demands much, and gardening can't be given so many hours. I'm happy to be able to do some good cleaning up and pruning here. I did find a great apple orchard just on the next peninsula. Even got Mutzu apples, my favorite! I also just found out I'll be able to do some decent thinning of trees here within Maine regulations. YEA!!! I don't think it's enough to make me sunny, but it will take away the deepness of much of the shade. Next step is an arborist. (Now I know why many gardeners on the coast might look forward to some hardy ice storms, too. Nothing like letting Mother Nature take care of shade for you. Hoping for a cold winter. ;-] ) I've come to really appreciate and love this setting more, shade and all. It is extremely peaceful, and every evening seems to end up with a nice show. Even the storms are fascinating. We had a river otter, a rare thing, swimming around our dock last week. He got some mussels/clams from the bottom and flipped on his back to crack them open. We are really hoping he comes back. Our house faces south, and the winter sun is very strong with the tree leaves gone. The house stays very warm and sunny. Our NH home also faced south, but this one is much warmer because it has more glass, and also because the reflection of the sun off the water is very strong, adding a great deal of additional heat. I've just realized that I should be able to have some nice flowering indoor plants that can handle lots of direct sunlight. I'm wondering if I can even get some things like thyme to grow indoors in the winter, too. Another thing to learn about gardening. My favorite thing to learn about! Pictures, you asked for?
