Valentine's Day Every Day: Hearts in your Home
I've been thinking about decorating my home for Valentine's Day. Maybe I'll get some heart-shaped candles. Perhaps I'll hand-paint some hearts on to old pillow cases. Maybe I'll frame some of my favorite artistic hearts and hang them on the walls.
As I think about this, I realize how great it would be to add hearts to my decor year-round. I'm in love with love. The hearts would go perfectly with some of the romantic pin-up style stuff I already have going on in my house. Yes, hearts would be perfect.
However it's not easy to find hearts that aren't cheesy or childish. I'm not looking to take the hearts out of the sales aisle in a drugstore and use them to decorate my home. I'd need to find something classier than that. Luckily Houzz has some great starting points!

So many of the romantic candle-lit bathtubs I've seen have got me thinking about a heart-shaped tub for my own home. Would that be sexy or would it be going overboard?
I absolutely love the heart tiles that adorn this uniquely-colored bathroom. What a sensual artistic place to shower!
I've been looking all over for a heart-shaped mirror but I haven't found one I like yet. However, this simple little mirror made me think that perhaps getting a heart-dotted ribbon to hang a small mirror would be an even better idea. What do you think?
Here's another simple piece of heart artwork. I love the way the Valentine's feel is enhanced here with the pink pillow and pinkish blanket. Cozy enough to make you want to cuddle up with someone!
The more hearts the better! I love the idea of picking up hearts in various places and framing them to create a wall full of love. Even better would be if they all had handwritten love messages on them.
This heart-shaped piece of art really stands out in this room. It brings a big pop of color to the space and adds a sense of playfulness to an otherwise more serious room.
I'm still on the hunt for great heart-decorated wallpaper. In the meantime, something like this would do. Plus I love the heart-shaped pillow on this bed, don't you?
Heart-shaped pillows would be perfect in your home but if that's a bit too much for you then a rich red pillow like this one would be a nice substitute.
