Need help choosing rug
Comments (1)Be wary of hand tufted rugs! spongobongo.com is great for persian rugs, antiques, auction references, etc. rugrag.com does similar, but entirely consumer oriented. they do q&a too which is good. rugmaster.blogspot.com is excellent for the "the day in the life" of a rug retailer. diamond weaving pattern is sometimes also referred to as lattice design too. that may too help with search results. natural fiber or sisal has been a big hit in homes of celebs I know. They are pretty rough, but are great for vestibule, garage entry, etc....See MoreI need help choosing a color or a design for these walls
Comments (6)Hi everyone, thanks for your valued opinions. I forgot to mention, the handrail will be replaced by a more modern design (nickel horizontal bars and a wood handrail on top). Yeah, like some of you said, I don't really want to "highlight" the highlighted walls, I want it to be low-profile but it just seem to me that by painting it the same color as the rest of the wall will make the entire living room too plain... isn't it?...See MoreHelp choosing the color of a wooden fence - design help!

I know they have come out with a newer design where you can insert the wooden post into a brown metal one for the lower part that goes into the ground. My next door neighbor did that, but that was not available when I had my fence put in many years ago....See MoreNeed help choosing a rug color
Comments (7)@Diana Bier has offered some good options. I agree, some color is needed. You also need to consider pattern scale when mixing patterns. The herringbone looks small, might even read as a solid, but what is the repeat on the other fabric? It should be identified on the fabric sample if you are buying from the furniture manufacturer (that cardboard holder at the top) or you can measure it yourself. You don't want to have a rug with a repeat the same as the fabric. Overall, mixing patterns are great with a small, a medium and a large scale fabric patterns....See Moreskhan1402
