I said on another post that i think Cloud White is highy underrated. I find it to be milky, but not creamy. More of a warmer white, not too stark, but not yellowish. They probably wiuld bith work with the colors you selected. I have cloud white with SW Contented and BM Carrington Beige and it works well with both. To my eye, white dove looks more creamy (yellow) in samples than it does in pics of people's cabinets. BM also lists them as coordinating colors. Your best bet is peobably to get large paped samples or sample pots of both to look at in the space once the floors are installed and cabinets are installed. Maybe one will jump out as the right one, but they will probably both work.

Mary, how paint will read is determined by many factors, including what direction a room faces, the furniture in the room, the light factors in both the room and outside , how each person sees color, and of course, the paint itself. I normally do not recommend toning paint (adding white) to achieve a lighter look. The reason is that it is that, as Lori points out, it is a guess as to whether or not it will work and I can predict better from a paint chip. However, sometimes clients want to try it. Ironically, I just had a client paint a room SW Requisite Gray. She is one of a only a few of my clients willing to paint her ceiling. She wanted to try Requisite Gray at half. It turned out perfectly. Does that mean it would work in your space? You cannot be sure. I always recommend painting on a piece of lightweight drywall instead of on the wall or ceiling itself. That way, you have the opportunity to move the piece of drywall around the room at different times of day to see if it will work for you. Much success to you in your project!

No problem, and thank you! Our kitchen was previously a garage so it really came a long way! It was quite the renovation. Our cabinet doors are from Semihandmade. I’m not sure whether they would be standard or full overlay. The doors and drawers completely cover the cabinet frame though. Our countertops are a white quartz, and our backsplash is a marble subway tile. All goes very well with BM White Dove and Natural Cream!

Why are you looking for colors that go with these two whites? It feels like you may be making decisions in the wrong order. When you say complete gut are you talking the kitchen or the whole house? I always find that creating a whole home color palette and creating a basis for design decisions is the right place to start. I have seen quite a few dilemmas over the years where someone fails to look at the whole home and made decisions for a single room that may have been beautiful, but don't work with the rest of the home and they go down a rabbit whole trying to fix one room after the next. If I am starting with a blank slate (New build or total renovation) I would want to understand what colors make your heart sing and how you want to feel walking through the rooms of your home. Plaster of Paris may be a beautiful color on your walls if you love fall colors, or may look dingy if you love buttery yellows, clear blues or cooler neutrals. Once you know the direction you are going with colors you can figure out the neutral color families that work best with the colors. Don't forget to consider any furnishings that you are planning to use in the new/renovated space or trim/ceiling color if you are not repainting trim, doors and/or ceilings. This is also the appropriate time to decide on lighting temperatures. The next steps are picking the high ticket items that won't change for the next 20 years or so. . . flooring, cabinets, countertops, backsplash, bathroom tile. You now have a starting place for these decisions. You know that a green gray will work or a blue gray won't work. . . Bring home tons of samples, play with the different items together and decide which combination is speaking to you. Look at everything with samples of the colors you love. Look at the samples in your home in the rooms where the products will be used. Take everything outside and look at the colors together in natural daylight. Natural daylight is like a truth serum for neutrals. It makes them reveal those pesky undertones that may not show up until you have a whole room completed. Next it is time to decide on upholstered furnishings. Budget and selection comes into play here. If you are ordering a sofa with lots of fabric choices you can usually find the right colors. If you are buying off the showroom floor you may not have as much choice. Now it is time to pick the wall colors and the white or colors for trim and ceilings if you are painting the trim/doors/ceilings. There are thousands of available colors. Unlike flooring, You can get virtually any color you are looking for.
