Living room/dining room drapes - the same but different?
Comments (25)Full shutter over entire space. Louvered so you could let some light come through, when desired. Then you could put art on each side if you wished. If you wanted shelves on the kitchen side, the shutters could be designed to open into the living room, but I would see then as closed with a hook of hardware and not necessarily operational from an open and close point of view. Only the louvers would open and close....See Moredifferent heights for window and door in same room
Comments (5)Don’t know where you live and I love big windows, but I would think carefully about the summer heat gain from big windows on a south wall. We increased the size of the windows on our south wall and lost some trees and we have way more heat gain than I would have thought or like. You can cover the new windows and that is our next step, but is that what you want? If this could be an issue for you, maybe there is a way to get some more light with strategically placed smaller windows. Of course you have to think about how the outside will look also....See MoreNeed to hang curtains for one bay window at a different height! Help
Comments (22)@HU-36691265 - Sorry for confusion - I can clearly see the middle windows are separate! it will look great doing inside mount with a single shade for each window! It would also look great outside mounted but you won’t know your options until you find out how much space the header takes for the style of shade you decide on. It might be really tight in space between molding top & soffit on that right window. If you’re needing window treatments for your entire house, it’s worth it to have someone come to your house. @Flo Mangan mentioned Smith and Noble & there are others - Budget Blinds etc. They all have many styles of shade & blinds & are really helpful. You might get a new house discount if you ask& are doing all the windows. @Lorraine Blasetti - Drapes have been discussed at length & don’t work in this situation! The OP prefers drapes too but has wisely moved on! 😊 Blinds also come in fabrics i.e. Silhouettes etc....See MoreWindows different heights
Comments (13)Transom windows are not to have curtains. Privacy is not an issue, they are for added light. In your configuration I would treat them as if the transom's are the squares above the window where the curtain is now. To properly hang the rod just above the casing and below the transom I would split the difference. What's above your usable windows should be treated as a divided light feature of the window below. One panel hung at the ceiling covering both the decorative/skylight windows and the window panes is just not a good look. You aren't going to put a curtain above the fireplace so all those high panes should be left alone. But frankly I think how the curtains are hung now is perfectly acceptable and I would not add more holes to your walls and just get new panels....See MoreCelery. Visualization, Rendering images
