Have : Interesting leftovers / Want: Large trades if possible
Comments (3)I am wondering if I've made my trade offer too difficult? I know I've asked for lots of specific hybrids, which isn't always easy and have added the 5 packet trade idea onto that. And my offerings are probably not as interesting to others as they were to me. [g] So, I can try to make a few adjustments. It's possible that I could work out a trade with other seed that I haven't requested, if you have a couple of what I'm looking for. If I'm asking for one variety of Viola and you have another, you could always offer that. Any other suggestions? Thanks :-)...See MoreUses for Pumpkin Juice? Also, Pumpkin Butter...
Comments (7)Carol - My point with the steak was simply that the USDA guidelines are supposed to be idiot proof. Since I am not an idiot, your ouija comment notwithstanding, I find myself looking at the USDA guidelines with a healthy degree of skepticism. That isn't to say I'm going to throw them out the window, simply that I'm open to alternatives. Canning with wire bail and Weck style jars is not recommended by the USDA, either - but people in Europe do it all the time - and don't die. If no one ever questions the guidelines how on earth do they ever get revised? Del...See MoreWhat Kind of Leftovers Did You Have For Breakfast?
Comments (22)I really didn't stuff myself during the meal. So at 5 in the morning I got up and had a bit of turkey, some stuffing and cranberry sauce. I then went back to sleep. So, I guess we can say that was breakfast. I had "lunch"at 12, which was what I would have had for breakfast. Fruit and peanut butter, but with a thin slice of banana bread that a friend made....See MoreLeftover holiday chocolate challenge
Comments (13)About good recipes--my mothers holiday cookies have turned less and less and into nothingness by cutting out all things cookie. They have no flavor. She cuts out most of the butter and almost all the sugars and cuts chocolate chips etc. and she does not cook them long enough. I don't see the point. Maybe add rosemary and a bit of parmesan so they are maybe a cracker. No one eats them but her. We do tell her. She considers them healthier. : ) Her chex party mix is really just mixed cereal out of the box. With pretzels and a few peanuts. Again not toasted at all. An extreme opposite is my neighbor. She makes the most divine chocolate truffles. Every holiday throughout the year a small box of six is hanging on our door knob. Usually six new flavors she is trying. Always amazing....See More- 7 years ago
