Starting Powder Room Mini- Remodel (PICS) - Need Input Please
Comments (6)Thanks Busybme. I was just thinking the same thing today after doing some remeasuring, that I could fit a 3 light bar fixture in the space I have. Here is a pic of the Duchess 3 light fixture but I turned it upside down for the downlight effect. Only issue I see reversing the light is needing more room above the arched mirror since the lamp shades will be running into the mirror top. I am leaning toward the first mirror too, but I haven't been able to actually see one in person yet to verify the finish color. I would have to order online and hope it will work. Still thinking about the mirror type and finish that would look best. I think the second mirror choice would be "safe" but I am feeling the urge to get a little more dramatic than that! Thanks everyone for the good comments. I have posted this on the decorating board and am getting suggestions there too. Gsciencechick I am going to check out that Moen faucet. I also found a Delta faucet yesterday that looks like it would work too. Only problem I am having is that my current TP holder is the recessed type built into the drywall. I am having a hard time finding one of those in a nice antique bronze type finish. I have seen one in ORB but it looks almost black and I really prefer the more brownish rustic bronze look for the faucet and other bath accessories. I may have to have the drywall patched and just go with a standard TP holder which can be found in more finish choices....See MoreNeed backsplash input, please.
Comments (23)You're very welcome Cj. In the other thread, you mentioned getting advice from the tile store that didn't mesh with much of the advice here. I don't blame you for being frustrated. Not quite the same thing, but I can relate because I've almost given up on asking family and friends for advice on my own house struggles. Example, regarding a low ceiling problem: Friend: "Aw, just paint it a cool color. It'll be great!" Family member 1: "I hate it too, but it's of the period, so it's understandable." Family member 2: "It's easy. Don't look up." Family member 3: "I just wish your father was here, because he'd tell you there's not a thing wrong with that ceiling!" It's enough to drive a person to drink. Sometimes I think GW members provide more even-handed advice (after you sort through varying opinions) because they worry less about saying what we want to hear, and they have no real motivation to sway them (like, making a sale, or saving money.) I hope you'll post back with how it goes....See MoreNeed carport to bedroom/den input and ideas
Comments (10)It will not have a foundation suitable to a residence, etc. It has water issues now, and as you can see, the whole yard needs to be regraded away from the house instead of towards it. And that is whether or not it becomes a habitable space. The yard is graded poorly. Your roof needs insulation to code requirements even if it didn’t have to be rebuilt. The current electrical service to the room will be insufficient for a modern bedroom and climate control. If you haven’t upgraded the home to a modern 200 amp service, that’s going to have to happen first. Where IS the nearest bathroom serving that? Do you think any AirBnB guest wants to have to go outside a virtual garden shed and into someone else’s house to take a shower or use the toilet? Not in this lifetime. It isn’t a simple or cheap project. http://www.remodeling.hw.net/cost-vs-value/2018/...See MoreBathroom hardware - please help, need input!
Comments (4)So far I'm wondering if the vero or the ara can go with the trillian or if it would make sense to try and soften it up with the trinsic accessories? Doesn't have to be Delta - definitely open to lots of suggestions!...See More- 5 years agolast modified: 5 years ago
