I am fixing beef and pork barbecue sandwiches, baked beans, fried potatoes and cole slaw plus a rich chocolate cake. This sounds great, Sue! Just the sort of meal DH (and I) would really like. We really like to make BBQ pulled pork in the slow cooker. Yum! He and our guys will also want hot wings, jalapeno poppers, chili-cheese dip with Tostitos Scoops, potato skins, etc, throughout the game. We'll be together with family next Sunday -- some pulling for the Saints, some pulling for the Colts. It ought to be verrry interrrresting, LOL. As for myself, I have mixed feelings -- I was a huge fan of Archie Manning eons ago when he was such a great QB for the then-perennially losing Saints (aka the "Aints" back then). I usually pull for his sons, both Peyton and Eli. I'd be in a real fix if the Colts and Giants met in the Super Bowl, LOL. Now Peyton, who grew up in Cajun country (as did several other Colts players), is going up against Archie's old team! It's almost surreal.

We are huge Steeler fans - we made sure that we were done eating by 4pm because our stomachs were so nervous, we couldn't eat after that :) We had: Vegies/dip Cheese/crackers PA Dutch ring bologna/Pepperoni Cold Crab dip Shrimp Cocktail Clams Casino Spread Hot Artichoke/Spinach Dip Homemade pita chips Roethlis-burgers Homemade pierogies Fudge Brownies with PB frosting Everyone stayed overnight after that emotionally draining game and got up early this morning to go home - oldest DD had to drive over an hour to get to work from here and youngest has a 3 1/2 hour drive back to college. We are glad that they are still big fans - it's something that gives us an excuse to do a lot of things together as a family :) Cindy

I loved the House MD ad that emulated the old Mean Joe Green super bowl ad where the little boy walks up and tells Joe Green he's "the best ever." Green tries to ignore the kid until he offers Joe a Coke. Joe takes it and walks away, leaving a dejected looking little boy standing there. Then Joe turns around and says "hey kid" and tosses the boy his towel, making the kid very happy. In the House ad a little boy says "Dr. House, I want to tell you I think you're the best ever." and House says "me too." Then the boy offers him a churro and House makes a snide remark walks away. Then he turns and says "hey kid" and throws his cane at the boy, knocking him in the head. The kids yells "owwww." As House walks away he mumbles "I really thought you had that." Jodi-

Yes we did :) It was great :) no problems at all! Doug was very thorough and found out all about our family and our property before he started ...check a couple of posts up and you will see my answer to how the process went a bit. We emailed a lot (mostly because I have 4 kids and it is rare for me to have an uninterrupted phone call, LOL) ...but we also did conference calls, etc. ....here is my response from a couple of posts up copy and pasted: "" Haley: It was so much easier (and affordable) than I thought it was going to be. Honestly, I looked around and our community is pretty small town and didn't find anyone local that felt right so I got the nudge here to contact ARG because he works remotely. Yes, my local architect ended up being 3000 miles away, but it didn't feel like it, LOL. After settling on the price, Doug put me straight to work! He had like eleventy billion gardenweb posts for me to read so that I wasn't completely clueless about the process and after reading one of them I went straight to work ;) I also had to write an essay for him (no kidding) and let him know our divine aspirations and deepest ambitions for our home. I imagine all of this could be done in person, but he ditched me and took his wife on an extended vacation...so I had way too much time to ponder (although I naturally saved all of the work for the last day). He also had me came up with a "bubble diagram" which is pretty funny...because I basically cheated and just took the way that *I* thought our house should be laid out (based on the eleventy ZILLION horrible house plans that I had looked at) and kind of laid the bubble diagram out to reflect that....which is so funny to me in hindsight! Apparently I have control issues or something. All of this to say...you can be the worst possible client and if your architect is a good one...you'll still get a great plan :) :) I also sent him a Pinterest board and Houzz ideabook of houses that suited my style for the exterior....which worked out well, because it seems like the type of houses that he designs and the type of houses that appeal to me jive.
