Whether you’re rooting for the New England Patriots or the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2018 Super Bowl this Sunday, you’ll want to make sure your snack game is on point when your friends come over. Follow along to see how to create an easy Super Bowl chip-and-dip bar right on your coffee table that’s sure to be a fan favorite.
Supplies
- Roll of brown kraft paper
- Scissors
- White chalk marker
- Small brown paper bags
- Variety of chips and dips
- Flowers
- Bowls for dip
- Paper plates and napkins
Instructions
1. Start with the table runner. Using your scissors, cut a piece of brown kraft paper that will fit on top of your coffee table. I let the ends roll over the edges.
2. Draw a football field with a white chalk marker using an image from the web for reference. A quick online search for “aerial football field” gave me what I needed. It is easiest to start with the 50-yard line, then divide the remaining sides into six sections each.

3. Make the snack holders. Starting about halfway down one side of a brown paper bag, use the white chalk holder to draw eight short horizontal lines across the middle.
4. Draw a long vertical line down the center to represent the lacing on a football. Fold the top over twice to make the bag a bit shorter (providing a bit of extra stability).
5. Repeat the process on a couple of other bags, and fill them with chips, pretzels, popcorn or other snacks.

Place a vase of flowers in the center of your coffee table and arrange the bags of snacks to one side.
Fill your bowls with different types of dip, from salsa to cheese sauce to hummus.
You’ll also want to provide your guests with napkins and paper plates. I put them on the lower level of my coffee table, but you might place them alongside the dip if you have only the top surface to work with.
Not only will the table runner provide a festive backdrop for your chip-and-dip bar, but it will also protect your coffee table and make for easy cleanup.
Be sure to pick your seat early, right in front of your favorite dip.
