Anyone know what this is 'WinHex'
Comments (13)Yes get help with it.. Recent variants of this family have been installing the TDSS rootkit as well. Windows XP Repair will also make it so that certain folders on your computer display no contents. When opening these folders, such as C:\Windows\System32\ or various drive letters, instead of seeing the normal list of files it will instead display a different folder's contents or make it appear as if the folder is empty. This is done to make it seem like there is corruption on your hard drive that is causing your files to not be displayed. It does this by adding the +H, or hidden, attribute to all of your files, which causes your files to become hidden. It will then change your Windows settings so that you cannot view hidden and system files. There's a lot a things going on here, I strongly suggust the user get expert help....See Morewanted: marigene wins the largest box prize!!!

Comments (3)Here is my advice, even though I'm not really in a position to be offering anyone advice since I've been in my "new" home for over a year and a half and still have only made significant progress in decorating about half of the rooms. Anyway, I would suggest that you do one of two things to play with ideas: 1) use an on-line room planner (available from many furniture store and home websites) or 2) actually mark out areas on your floor with tape or cutouts. I have poor spatial reasoning and have found both approaches really helpful. My personal opinion is that a single sofa and two chairs are a better option than two loveseats. Loveseats are awkward seating for two people who are not a couple. Also, I assume you were planning to put the two sofas perpendicular to the fireplace (facing each other) or have one facing the fireplace and the other perpendicular to it, but having the sofa facing the fireplace with chairs on the sides is another option that might work. Also, I've seen some "apartment size" sofas that are slightly smaller than a standard sofa but larger than a loveseat. The configuration and size of my family room and kitchen are similar to your space, but my breakfast bar and fireplace are in different positions. Good luck with your decsions!...See Moreanyone here ever 'win' a new kitchen? Taxes question...
Comments (11)Yup, you will have to pay taxes on a prize if you win it. Read the fine print on the contest rules. Sometimes a winner can take a lump sum cash prize in lieu of the advertised prize if they offer that option. The cash prize is way less than the "value" of the advertised prize but at least you won't have to worry about shoddy workmanship and the taxes are way less on the cash prize than the inflated value of a remodeled kitchen. There has only been one winner who took the actual HGTV Dream Home. The rest all took the cash prize substitute. HGTV also has a team of legal advisors to fully inform the winner of all the legalities and liabilities when accepting the prize no matter what the choice. Smaller contests aren't so caring. With Oprah's car giveaway the winners found out they had to pay taxes on the autos and many claimed they could not afford the taxes. This was very bad PR. Oprah then coughed up cash to give to each winner to pay the taxes but that only INCREASED the winner's tax liability by increasing the amount they won. What the heck was she thinking???. I hope she fired her legal advisors. You don't have to be a JD to figure that one out. LOL. With those TV shows where they remodel a room or whole house they sign a contract. I never thought anyone every "won" a remodeling. They are only looking for certain types of homes and situations. Location is one of the biggest factors for appearing on the show, plus having enough room for camera equipment and what not, both inside and outside the house. Zoning laws and permits from the city for filming are also a factor in whether one is chosen or not. The money and items received may be defined as payment for being on the show. The cash and items gained through the arrangement are still taxable with the only difference being what line on the tax form is used to report the income....See More- 5 years ago
