I should have "buried the money"
Comments (12)I normally repair my faucets when they start to weep a bit - don't wait until there's a steady drip. So far, I've been able to do the job myself. Most home faucets, especially the older ones, are simple affairs and need only internal parts. But as things are going these days, there is a time coming when parts for the older ones will no longer be made or stocked. I hope to be gone before that happens to my faucets. I have a mix of two types in my house. If you have closed the shut-off valve (in the feed line to the faucet), know what parts you need, and then go get them, the job will be half done. All that's left is to install the parts....See MoreBuried money
Comments (29)I bought a brand new Lexus from a local Lexus dealership in 2013. There are only two Lexus dealerships in the greater Sacramento area; the next closest is in the San Francisco Bay area. Prior to my buying the Lexus, I was considering getting a new Mercedes or BMW. I've never received, or even seen, an incentive to test drive any of those brands in the greater Sacramento area. I don't doubt that they exist elsewhere -- I've just never seen or heard about them....See MoreRaven, it's Feb. 7...did you close on the house?
Comments (46)Dogs will ride in the stock trailer....cats in carriers. They will be the last things moved....we will have to take many trips to move everything. Including my collection of old concrete water troughs! ;) Tami, Jody is doing okay. He went to see the asbestosis lawyers and they were happy.....said he has the worst case they have seen in quite awhile....I think they said two years. Good for them....bad for him....except, he is getting along okay. He just can't exert himself very much. He is going to get some money out of it....don't know how much. My brother in law had it, and not as bad as Jody, and he died....not necessarily from that but he had cancer that did spread to his lungs. Sis in law got $22,000 from them last year. They still send the money, even tho he died....See MoreHow Many Are Burying Money on New Year's Eve?
Comments (40)I haven't buried mine yet. I need to put a piece of flag stone over the top of it. The soil is so sandy here, the dogs can easily dig it up. Plus if I touch something, that is something they seem to automatically want. I really had to laugh the other day. I walked out in the hay field which is on the far side of this place. I walked around it to look at some tree that was on the edge of the forest. We back up to the Davy Crockett National forest. The dogs went with me. One dog, Scout, went off on her own. When I got back to the barn, I saw Scout zig zagging all over....following the path I had walked. Nose to the ground. She was tracking me. If she had looked up, she could have seen me. Makes you appreciate what a great nose dogs have. A little unnerving that a dog could smell me like that. :)...See Moreeld6161
