I wanted a new faucet but not until I was getting new countertops and a new sink etc etc. I would have liked one of those tall high arc ones with the springy things wrapped around it so the neck bends. I currently have a two handled high arc neck with a side sprayer. The sprayer quit working a couple years back. I'm getting the same style to replace the old one. At least I'll have a sprayer again :-)

Would be easier to boil the washing up water on the stove. Hope you get it fixed soon!

The fix might be as simple and easy as replacing a washer in the faucet. If there are separate hot and cold "knobs" you would just have to change the washer in the "hot knob," but buy an extra one because sooner or later the cold one will need replacing, too.

I normally repair my faucets when they start to weep a bit - don't wait until there's a steady drip. So far, I've been able to do the job myself. Most home faucets, especially the older ones, are simple affairs and need only internal parts. But as things are going these days, there is a time coming when parts for the older ones will no longer be made or stocked. I hope to be gone before that happens to my faucets. I have a mix of two types in my house.

If you have closed the shut-off valve (in the feed line to the faucet), know what parts you need, and then go get them, the job will be half done. All that's left is to install the parts.

LOL...after a few rounds of hot water in the microwave I realized I should be boiling the water on the stove...did a couple pots full of water. I was hoping it was a simple fix but when I took of the top of the handle the valve/cartridge thing was snapped in half. I have the plumber out right now installing my new faucet.

Got a bill this morning from HOA our new clubhouse opened in Oct and they are just now sending out the payment books for that so I have 3 months worth of clubhouse payments to make. Then one of my light switches upstairs decided to fritz on me and the outside outlet is not working so now I have to call the electrician. Good grief I am 3 days into the New Year I hope this is not a trend starting.

I don't think many faucets use a simple washer anymore, but rather cartridges that can be tricky to change. Another way to charge more.

oh Raven! dh bought that faucet LAST Christmas and it's still in the box!!! at least he got the poster he had framed for me hung for this one!!
