Leave the toilet where it is. Take out the tub. Expand the shower from where it is now to the far wall (where the end of the tub is now) Then put in a new longer double vanity from where the current vanity is now to take up the rest of the area from the tub. Bigger shower, bigger vanity, NO tub, but saving a ton of money by not moving any major plumbing.

I should have mentioned this before....major plumbing work is not an issue, as my father-in-law owns a plumbing company. I would prefer a better layout, even if that means we need to move plumbing.

You do realize that this project has the potential to get very expensive?

You can't 'alter' a shower. It's a rip-out to the walls and redo.

Least expensive thing that I can see to do is to leave the shower as it, remove the tub and put a second vanity somewhere in the space vacated by the tub.

If plumbing costs are not an issue and you do not want a bathtub, you could remove the tub, extend the shower towards the current tub and have the toilet where the tub is..that way, the toilet is not in your face and it's slightly hidden. You can have the double vanity where you have the vanity now. Where you have the toilet now, you could add a linen closet or shelves for the towels and other bath related items.

You could also leave the toilet where it is and have shelving to the left of your vanity, where your bathtub is now..

You could also have a bathtub/shower combo

If you are ok with only a hook when you get out of the shower you can have a pocket door where the door was originally placed and have a cabinet (15" x 36") on the bottom right corner. The shower could probably be few inches longer.

I was thinking something similar to what suzanne drew above, but with the shower being along the 95" wall lengthwise..You could do a half wall towards the toilet and continue with glass above to finish the shower

Could the entry door possibly move to the left where the shower is? Then maybe put the shower where the tub is and add a vanity where the current entry is?

Thank you all for your input. I think the best/easiest option for us is to remove the bath tub, extend the shower all the way, make the vanity a dual vanity and leave the toilet as-is. Next step is finding a design...I’m thinking very light colors so the bathroom looks big. Our style is modern traditional, let me know if any ideas come to mind!

That is a good option. I would move the entrance door a bit to the left so you can add a pony wall to the right so it hides the toilet.
