Don't get mad at me, but I HAVE to find new homes for my iris...
Comments (7)I'm sorry you had to give away your irises, but you can go visit them all of the time when they bloom at your friend's house. You can just dig and replant the rhizomes in her beds as soon as her beds are ready, any time between now and the end of August is usually recommended. When you dig up the rhizomes, you can divide them and as irisgal says dispose of the rhizomes without leaves. I plant mother rhizomes that have not bloomed and sometimes they bloom in the new spot. You can leave the leaves on if they don't pull the rhizome over with their weight. I like to plant the rhizomes a foot apart in fan or sickle shaped patterns so that they look like they grew naturally. I give my irises to my neighbors too. Then I get to enjoy the ones that don't look good in my garden. Renee...See MoreWhat can I do my Neighbor is mad at me : (
Comments (31)trancegemini_wa, I think it's abundantly clear that you're one of the people who feel that they're entitled to let their cats roam where ever they want and to let them do what ever they want, no matter how they and you, by allowing it, infringe on other people and animals. Cats killing wildlife isn't the ONLY problem. They drive other people's pets crazy, they destroy plants, they crap all over walk ways, they kill people's chickens and aviary birds, amongst other problems. Then, there are a bunch of dangers that the cats face themselves, coyotes, dogs, poison, cars, disease, trigger happy kids and sickos, etc. The list goes on and on. Being turned into the SPCA would be a far better fate than being neglected by their owners like they are now. Better being adopted into a new home with an owner who cares than being found run over at the side of the road. My local SPCA is a no kill facility. Please tell me why a no kill facility would lie and kill cats that I bring them? I'm confused why you assumed that they'd kill the cats. And if people don't want their cats to be trapped and taken to the SPCA or the Humane Society or high kill shelters, then they wouldn't allow them to roam where ever they please. It's my property. They're lucky that I'm not sicking my dog on them, which would be my right but it's not the cat's fault, it's the owners and so the cats shouldn't have to be the ones to suffer. But cats are suffering. Do I need to keep a running tally of all the ones I see run over and brought into veterinary hospitals for unnecessary and totally avoidable maladies that don't happen to indoor cats?...See MoreBacksplash color - help my madness!
Comments (9)Artlover - I like a lot of color, too. We took out a wall in our remodel in order to have open space and it's been a huge change for me to decorate this way. I've been trying to bring in pops of color instead of painting my walls as many different colors as they were before. My biggest fear with color for the backsplash would be that it would feel too dark. But I love the burnt orange idea. My shelf on the opposite wall is SW flowerpot and I could do a board in that color to see what it might look like there. Mitch - Other people have told me the brick looks like subway tile. Maybe I should put a gloss over it. :) The piece over the sink is from Target. It's 'wood' of some sort. I'd struggled for a long time finding something for that spot and I love it too. Except it is hard to dust! OK - I've got my big girl panties on today. ;-) Any more feedback from anyone? We slowly did our changes and now that we're pretty 'done' I feel like something is missing to put it all together. I'd like to change out the recliner at some point, new kitchen table, bring the light down, I did get a new lamp... What am I missing/needing? Maybe the backsplash isn't the problem I think it is.?...See Moreughhhh...so mad...bm got my number!
Comments (60)Thanks Mattie. I am trying to trust that I'm on the right path, and things will be brighter ahead, no matter what. There is no doubt in my doctor's mind that the stress of the last few years has brought a lot of *my issues* to the forefront. BUT a lot of MY issues are also the reason I've accepted such a crap situation. KWIM? I can recognize now the damage the unending stress resulting from the BM situation has brought. But I have to accept some responsibility in it, too. People treat you how you let them treat you. I can't control BM's behavior but I CAN expect---even demand---that my DH treat me with respect. And while he does in other areas, he does NOT in the situation pertaining to BM. DH loves me, cares for me, no doubt. But he's got his own issues to work on, and I think THAt is why my psych. encouraged DH to get into individual therapy for himself. My doctor told me that, going through therapy, I will be fundamentally CHANGED for the better, and it's productive if BOTH partners can change simultaneously. At the very least, as I get stronger and put emotional pain in the past, I will be able to make capable, GOOD choices. Or at least that is the fervent hope. The silver lining--I started a blog detailing my therapy journey and a good friend of mine who reads it forwarded some of the material to a publisher friend of HERS. As a result--I scored a paid writing gig! WOOHOO. It's something aimed at teenage girls, and I will be published, have my name on a book, etc. No royalties, but this is a great, exciting step for me. I love to write, and I know that this one time job opens doors to other opportunities in the future. Writing has always been my passion and it's awesome that therapy has forced me to *hone my craft.* I do believe in God and that things work out as He intends. If I look back over my life, I can see a bigger, greater plan at work. Sometimes it's just so hard to see in the middle of it! "My concern is purely for your SAFETY and Happiness above all. Cause I think you are a really kind & caring person and deserve to be treated as such." Thanks Cat, that was so kind of you to say. I meant to thank you earlier, you are so sweet. :) I am so glad you are in a happier place now! I know you went through so much crap! (((HUGS)))...See Moredcarch7 d c f l a s h 7 @ y a h o o . c o m
